FOTY: Pacquiao - Margarito

Pacquiao-Magarito was like a higher paced, higher skill level Martinez-Pavlik

 

Yea I wouldnt say FOTY as everyone said to one sided.

Juanma vs Marquez is a better candidate to me but there are a few good fights still left.

 

Well, you are a Pac fan, so was worried for your man, which was completely understandable.

But I have been watching Pac for quite awhile. Once he started proving he could fight bigger men, I knew Margo would really have nothing for him.

Im not saying Pac wasnt hurt, but he took Margo's sunday punch, and came right back. Margo was no more good after that.

 

Beat down of the year maybe ..Fight of the year candidates usually have great back and forth the problem with this one was that Marga cheato fought in spurts ...Look for Abrham Froch to be the FOY ..

 

Hagler - Hearns won FOTY ... and I would argue that it wasnt really competitive

 

Was my favourite fight of the year, by far, despite not remembering much, I do remember the liver shot and the one sided beatdown.

 

good fight but froch kessler beats it. what about haye v harrison too? in time we'll come to give that fight the classic status it deserves...

 

No...this is not FOTY. The rest of this year's bouts should prove to be far more competitive.

 

fight of the year has to be a fight of the year.margo was beatdown every rd in the fight, in very few rds maybe 3 at the most he got off on his man.but fight of the year has to be back to back to the end.

 

You're ****ing crazy, there's been several far better fights including the week before Juan Manuel Lopez vs Rafael Marquez in an insane slugfest.... there's 2 more possible FOTY's coming up too with Williams vs Martinez 2 and Katsidis vs Juan manuel Marquez. Pac vs Margo wasn't even slightly competitive. It was systematic beatdown. Completely one sided and takes 2 to tango for FOTY honors.

I gave him three. One of them was maybe a pity round, but he did enough.

Anyway, I think Pacquiao at least dispelled the myth that body shots are his kryptonite. His ribs got busted up, but he sure as hell didn't go down from some pretty wicked body shots.

 

No chance, it was a beatdown.

 

Definitely not. This was a one-sided beating involving two fighters on different levels. It's not like it was an upset or unexpected. Rockgloves was overmatched before he even signed the contract that had him coming down in weight to make the fight happen.

 

It was a real good fight but fight of the year? Come on. People forgot about Lopez vs Marquez? That was a better fight imo. But lets wait until Williams vs Martinez rematch and Froch vs Abraham ends before we all can give an opinion on who should be fight of the year.
