Well, going purely by momentum shifts (a usual FOTY criteria) it has to be Kennedy-Diaz. They went back and forth as the ring general so many times it was dizzying. In Lee-McEwan it essentially was McEwan taking over in the early/middle going and then Lee clawing his way back in late. So, really just two major momentum shifts. It was exciting as hell watching it live, though. :think I'll say Kennedy-Diaz by a hair. Top 5? In descending order: Hernan Marquez TKO11 Luis Concepcion Roman Gonzalez UD12 Manuel Vargas Shinsuke Yamanaka KO10 Ryosuke Iwasa Brandon Rios TKO10 Miguel Acosta Teon Kennedy UD12 Jorge Diaz Andy Lee TKO10 Craig McEwan was fabulous, but just doesn't make the cut for my top 5. That's a sure sign that it's already been a very good year. :thumbsup
Kennedy - Diaz was great. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole fight, the action was great and as you said, the shifts in momentum were sensational. It was just enthralling. I nearly threw my computer out of my window when the Top Rank stream started ****ing up, causing us to miss the action :yep. Riveting from start to finish. Just a shame I can't find it anywhere online for a re-watch. Good list. Can't argue with Concepcion - Marquez as number 1, that fight was just amazing. It's great throughout of course, but the last minute of the second round really stood out to me, some exceptional action there. The only listed fight I am yet to see is Yamanaka - Isawa, so I'll probably give it a watch soon :good.
Segura-Marquez would be just as good. All mexican, boxer-puncher V brawler. Ingredients of a very exciting fight!
Bad match-up for Tyson, IMO. Segura has a couple of inches on him, long arms, and probably even more power than Concepcion even up at flyweight.
This shouldn't be allowed to drop off the 1st page and into the forgotten-thread wasteland until most of our regulars/lurkers get a chance to see it. :deal
