It's gonna be very hard to beat that as the fight of the year for 2008. Props to both fighters . . . for the great performance. :yep :good
yep. so far, this is definitely the fight of the year. but it's still a long year though with a lot more great fights lined up.
I recorded it . . . and I'll probably watched it while eating breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for a whole week.
Great fight but I question the ref at the end - even though the knockdown was legit, he said that he regreted deducting that point from Marquez. Overall though I had Marquez winning the fight but that 12th round was ****in amazing. Vasquez was working the **** out of Marquez, I seriously thought that the fight was going to get stopped. Not many mistakes from ref, he ref'd a great fight and let the guys do the damn thing. I still think Marquez won!!
Best trilogy ever and despite who won or lost these guys put on a show, non stop action for 12 rounds, multiple knockdowns, and guys ending the fight like it should be throwing blows. I think that these guys are both set and despite losing twice I think Marquez didn't tarnish his legacy at all, if anything it helped his lecacy.
Great fight, the ref did a good job at the end, I thought he was going to ended it for Marquez, that 12th round was amazing.
a fighter can't win a fight after losing all the championship rounds and being KD'd in a very one-sided 12th round. marquez still winning that fight after that would've been a great injustice and much more controversial. the best i would have given marquez was a draw but vasquez won this close fight by a point or two.
No DOUBT! Then again, I and II were the OBVIOUS #1 and #2 fights of 2007, yet plenty of idiots had other ideas (needlessly bringing inferior bull**** like Pavlik-Miranda, Pavlik-Taylor, Cotto-Judah, Bika-Codrington etc. into the conversation :roll
