    I was possibly the only fighter who fought a bout at a famous place with the same name as my last name.If you know my last name you know where i fought..Who was I, and the famous place I fought ?

    My guy kod 57 opponents, and he fought once at a Very famous place
    with his LAST name.....,He became a popular referee after retirement.

    Carlos “Escopeta” Monzon. Just because i know he has 57 KOs. Hagler does too though. Hmmmmm

    Hint=my guy was a middleweight. Never a champ, but could hit...

    Burt, I waited long enough, so I will give you the answer.

    Harry Ebbetts, (Ebbet's Field) But the spelling is a little different, but some sources spell it Ebbets as well.

    hh, thanks for letting me go a few rounds...Yes it was Harry Ebbets, middleweight from Rockaway, NY who fought Andi DiVodi, at old
    Ebbets Field Aug. 20, 1926..
    Years after he retired he became a popular referee in the NY area, and I
    would see him often officiating...Ebbets at Ebbets Field...As Mel Allen
    would announce "how about That "...b.b.
