:good Thanks - It sure does. Everybody else will ignore it though. Even clears up one of the previous posters who stated that Nazim was referring to novacaine, Nazim clearly said Lidocaine. Before everybody says that novacaine and lidocaine are from the same class, it's still not the same drug. Also, that whole class is not listed as a banned substance. So either way, no rules were broken. I even saw a post in here stating that said it was a performance enhancer. It does not increase his spead, does not give him more power, does not sharpen his skills - it is not a PED. If anything, it puts his hands in more danger because if he can't feel the pain he can cause severe, irreversible damage to his hands. If anything, he'll retire himself sooner for using it. And have you ever tried to maneuver your hands when numb? You even lose a little coordination. The reason it hurt so bad in the clip is probably because the painkiller wouldn't allow him to tighten the muscles in his hands. If anything, what he does eases the pain in his hands, but hurts hurts his performance.
wrong! naz mention the xolicane or what ever he didnt even know what to call it. I think everybody knows what novacane is and have no problem pronouncing it. Stop ****ing lying man
Yeah, don't you haters realise? Floyd is so good, he injects that stuff as a handicap. Just to try and make the fights even. He don't do it to help - he don't need help. He is sabotaging himself or he doesn't feel any challenge! I know a lot of y'all will say that's the dumbest thing you ever heard, but... er... er... er... er.. er.... er... er....
He also said "the only caine I wanna hear is big daddy kane". The point being if you have weak hands and take something that unnaturally allows you to overcome that pain you are enhancing your performance. period. If shane could take something that would keep him from being tired if he has bad stamina thats a performance enhancer. what is the difference. if tommy morrison could have taken something for his weak jaw that would have been a performance enhancer. you floyd defenders are hypocrites.
C'mon, don't take **** out of context. He does it because although it may have a little impact on his performance, it's worth it because it eases the pain in his brittle hands. His knuckles are going to look like walnuts when he's an old man.
Wrong! how many fighters quit in the last decade due to pain? Bum Ortiz Fighters quit because there Tired before the Pain. Are you ****ing crazy? The man fought with a broke rib. You hit floyd he wont move he hit you u sleep its because they been hit so many times there tolerant. Why you think ufc dudes kick people and they dont die? There kicks are equivalent to car crashes. The training Pain dont decide quiters conditioning does. You dont know the sport if you think pain is the deciding factor. The 1st punch recieved is pain. Skill, conditioning, and KOs are the deciding factors pain is somthing to be accepted before you step in the ring. I ****ing hate when people who never laced up talk about what the **** the sport is about. When you dont know **** but what you saw on TV get back on your ****ing couch and dont spk about the sport
I don't much care about this but if a fighter who hasn't had bad hands breaks his hands in the fight and has nothing to ease the pain and can't use the hand, that's a big disadvantage, so I'm not so sure how "fair" is this. I know Hearns was in trouble in some of his fights because of this. Anyway if you are NATURAL, then you go in there with your brittle hands, it's part of boxing no? Like a cut, you break your hands, oh well!. It's possible to look at it like that too.
What if Shane had chronic migraines and took some motrin. That would help him think and perform better in the ring. Would the motrin be considered a PED? What if a fighter had vision problems and got laser eye surgery. Surely he would perform better with better vision. Is getting eye surgery wrong?
If those other guys found something that was legal, therefore available for both opponents, then you wouldn't have a problem with it. You're just finding something to complain about. If you hate Floyd just say you hate him because he seems like a ****ing *******, not something thats not even illegal. I'd have more respect for that.
You can't even use xylocaine within the week of the fight. Even if you could, it's not going to help you overcome a broken hand. That **** is still going to hurt.
But since this is not a banned substance, the other fighters can do the same if they feel it will be beneficial.
Diffrence is weather its legal or not. theres nothing anyone can take legaly that gives you more wind. I agree he is enhancing performance but he is doing it legally. If I take a animal Pak for extra burst of energy will that be frowned upon?
As far as Im concerned if you have to take a drug prior to the fight, to help during the fight, that you wouldnt need to help through day to day life, thats cheating. Plain and simple. You know it and I know it. And for the record Larry Merchant said Novacaine. Novacaine is rarely used anymore because so many people have allergies to it, it was replaced forty years ago (which is probably why Merchant remembers it) by... you guessed it Lidocaine/Xylocaine (they are the same thing). One can safely assume that is what Floyd had injected into his hands and as mentioned above if you think thats fair then you are a hypocrite. I think its hilarious that some of you would actually, to defend your boy, state that if a fighter could take something that wasnt illegal to help his punch resistence then it should be fair game. Anyone who says this needs to just get the **** out of the sport. Your a floyd fan, not a sports fan or a boxing fan.
No one that doesn't have a predisposition to breaking their hands is really gonna do that and they shouldn't. So if it does happen, they are gonna be at a disadvantage. But it's like cuts, I don't like cut wins either, but it's part of boxing.
