I've noticed that...I wonder what he has to say about Vargas??? Given that he's a known roid user...Its quite sad that he has to pull the race card when people doesnt give two shits about Margorito...Outside of the Margorito issue, he's a call dude to chat with, but he does go a little over board with the Margorito thing because of race!:-(
Way overboard. I brought the Vargas thing up, and I just assumed he believed him, and he basically all but said he didn't believe him. Which honestly to me, I think he's just saying because if he doesn't he looks even worse.
You can't say fact that he's never injected himself? How the **** would you know? There is no way anybody but him would know for a FACT. Don't ruin you argument with stupid statements like that.
Its a fact because he admitted it you ****ing moron. Furthermore my point is and always has been, in reference to the hernandez fight, if Floyd went down from pain in his hands when he had his hands numbed artificially then imagine what might have happened had he not had chemical help. You say that if xylocaine is a PED then so should vitamins and Proteins shakes be considered PEDs. Hey, fine, lets ban mosley from taking vitamins and protein, and floyd from taking xylocaine and we will see which one suffers more. LOL. Mosley can get protein from steaks and vitamins from veggies, lets see floyd suck on a hotdog and see if he can get xylocaine out of it...
If Floyd has a naturally occurring condition, such as pain in his hands, it's his burden to fight with the pain or not fight. Suggesting that because the other fighter enjoys pain free hands makes the playing field uneven is ridiculous. How about other natural gifts/abilities? Would it make sense to give fast fighters depressants so their handspeed wouldn't give an advantage against slower fighters? Or should short fighters be allowed to wear shoes that make them taller so they aren't at a height disadvantage? If Floyd's hands hurt and he suffers pain during the course of a fight, that's the breaks. Nobody said you are entitled to fight pain-free to ensure a fair fight.
I think there should be an entitlement to a certain degree. If two fighters who are scheduled to fight come down with a nagging, small injury, I say it's reasonable to allow them to negate pain just so the fight can go on. For the sake of saving a fight, it's a good idea from my point of view. How many times have we heard about a great fight being canceled due to an injury? Too many times and it's frustrating. I figure if we can bring down the numbers, even if it's just a notch, I'm all for it. It becomes a problem when let's say one uses a drug that prevents him from feeling any of the punches landed on his body. Now that would be crossing the line and I would never allow it. If we are going to be ridiculously nit-picky about rules, why not eliminate mouthguards? They help prevent cuts sustained on the mouth. Cuts make a difference in a fight. I don't necessarily think Lewis would've won had V. Klitschko worn some sort of protective gear to prevent that serious cut on his eye.
I don't care that much. I never really bought into the whole "PEDs make you as bad as a murderer cause boxing is a sport where you injure people" argument anyway. Not that I like cheats - I think bans should be much more severe. What bothers me is some of the cloudy thinking being posted. Are we really trying to say that having anesthetic injected into your hands is similar to taking vitamins? I saw a lot of the same when Floyd's camp started making their accusations against Pac. Statements that were just plain lacking in any sense, arguments based on the flimsiest premises....
Damn! atsch Floyd doesn't have an "injury". Mouthguards benefits both fighters. If you remove it the benefits will both be gone. That is fair.
I know that statment (to make it an even playing field) was dumb; was just giving Freddy a hard time. :good
Despite some of the arguments I throw out for the sake of debate, I honestly do not think vitamins and numbing agents are the same. I threw that out as an extreme because I also don't think that steroids/EPO and numbing agents are the same. I was trying to point out that comparing lidocaine to steroids is just as ridiculous as comparing them to over the counter supplements. Lidocaine has been out for years, and if it were truly a "performance enhancer" that gives an "unfair advantage", then the commission would have completely banned it. Floyd's use of this has been know for years, so if another fighter has a problem with it, the he should do the same think Floyd did - ban it in their contract! When Floyd demanded olympic style testing, Shane could have said, "I absolutely agree, and in the spitit of cleaning up the sport, I also want novacaine/lidocaine/xylocaine to be banned from this contest." Boom - problem solved. Since he didn't do that, Shane obviously doesn't have a problem with it, so why is everybody bitching about it. just enjoy the God Damn fight. :bbb
