You had to apologise and backtrack from your suggestion that Hatton only mauled and brawled(which i respected btw). Now this...

Cotto fought Paulie when Paulie when Paulie was a actual fighter and not a man who lost love for sport and become more of a character. Hatton i can't remember his face being marked up and the Kotelnik fight Khan avoided any form of trading and won fight. But some people mark up easier then others. When i boxed my skin would be roughed up from just clinching. Just happens..no biggy.

 

What? :huh Hatton and Cotto's face did still puff up. Not to the extent of Khan's but they still did.

Could prove to be just an impressive a victory as beating the legendary Marco Antonio Barrera.

 

Some people's facial features make it seem a lot worst. Some people get cut and bruised easier. The key thing is that he was never hit with any big power shots or hurt. Yeah it was only featherfisted Malignaggi but you get the point.

There is also a perfectly good explanation of why he was marked up so much around the eyes--look at where the punches landed. People that keep bringing this up miss out on this particular detail. Of the 87 punches that landed on Khan's face, only 1 landed on the chin area! The other 86 landed on the eye area! If you keep getting hit in the same area (even if they are only jabs) you will get bruised.

From a defensive point of view it shows how much protecting the chin has become deeply ingrained into Khan.
