Actually I think Oscar was 17. JCC was training for the Taylor fight. I'm sure this is that sparring match as DLH has claimed Chavez made him wear 18 ounce gloves and those gloves look freakin' huge.

    EDIT:

I think someone yells something like "pelea como mallate," or it sounds like it. It's after a combo and DLH decides to go head to head and gets a body punch.

Ok, I just figured it out, you're right. I was going by the Oscar autobiography where he claims he was 17. I guess he didn't research his own career. I'm looking at the passage right now. But he claims they were 18 ounce gloves and talks about going to a knee after a body punch. So yeah, sorry dude, I bow to your expertise.

Dude, DLH was a kid back then, and Chavez wasn't even trying. When he did open up, for like five seconds, he knocked DLH down and immediately backed off. Don't make it out to be more than it really is.

I wished chavez would of retired before dlh, but he had to pass the flame. Chavez would of ko'd dlh within 6 with a body shot, just like hopkins in his prime.

I guess it's all irrelevant anyway. Oscar was a kid, Chavez was stronger blah blah. We all know what happened when they met up TWO times and weren't sparring. Oscar made Chavez quit Period

But at least JCC didn't pick some runt (PacMan) thinking he was going to retire with a win only to QUIT without a whimper!!! This is how pathetic the DLH vs PacMan bout was. In the staredown, DLH was shoeless and PacMan was wearing sneakers that added about two inches to his height. How's that for brilliant marketing??
