Tank Davis = Roberto Duran Ryan Garcia = Thomas Hearns Teófimo López = Marvin Hagler Devin Haney = Sugar Ray Leonard Discuss...
Ryan Garcia doesn't have near the straight right Tommy Hearns had. lol...not givin' yu **** Bro but go back and watch Tommy's fight against Roberto Duran. No way in hell that Ryan kid's throwin' that same punch for that same effect on a still very strong Roberto Duran.
you're comparing 4 guys who are shining now against 4 guys who still shine over time. i think you'll find it much harder to do this comparison once the current crop have had a few more acid tests, and eventually retire.
Today's Fab Four. I can dig that. Obviously not as good as the original Fab Four (doubt there ever will be) but they can definitely end up being today's fab four.
I'm not sold on Ryan Garcia yet. The jury's still out on that boy. The main thing that validates him right now is that two legends talk 'eem up and talk like he's the real deal. It's tough to discredit these two especially seein' as one only lost the few fights he did because he stuck around too long.
Technically if making a comparison to the Fab Four(should be 5 Benitez gets overlooked) then the Hagler comparison would fit Jaron Ennis or Vergil Ortiz. Hearns and Leonard started at 147 Duran 135 while Hagler was always at 160.
garcia's still young. cautionary tale though...remember all the legends zab judah had walking to the ring with him for the kostya tszyu fight...
