    Round robin format.

    The combatants:

    Orlando Canizales
    Rafael Marquez
    Alfonso Zamora
    Lupe Pintor

Assuming they all get adequate recuperation between fights to maintain some peak performance.

    Who comes out top ?

How do you see their fight head to head?

Jeez it's one of those who imposes there will on the other. Can Canizales work his angles all night or will he succumb to Pintors pressure and increasingly get forced to the ropes more and more fighting in the trenches.
This is why this is a really tough pick for me.

12 or 15 might really matter there too and I didn't specify.

You can blame Unforgiven for that.

What about say Hopkins-GGG where they've never boxed that distance?

Those two keep themselves in such good condition yr around. They live a professional lifestyle so I dont think 15 would be a big deal for either man

Don't know so much about GGG...honestly, I'm not too sure of how he manned the 12 round distance vs Canelo and Jacobs,...but Hopkins would have 3 extra rounds to do some more play acting...rolling around on the deck faking being hit with low blows and the like....more chances to earn an academy award.
Seriously, all these "what if" type fights should always be scheduled for 15 rounds. Modern boxing may be debauched in reality with that dreadful 12 round title fight limit, but in your posts, the title fights can always be for 15.

Marquez and Zamora would be figured out and eliminated, and Pintor would be the man. He would out gut and persevere vs Canizales by a 15 round decision.

I've always liked Marquez, though he's a bit more vulnerable than the rest except maybe Zamora. For all his gifts, Canizales struggled against guys that, on paper, he should have dominated; Bones Adams and Billy Hardy as examples. He could be outworked.

I suppose I think Pintor is the most accomplished and well-rounded candidate here to unseat Gaby, but I can't help comparing Canizales and Davila, who took Pintor to the limit in a very close 15-rounder. Davila's kind of a poor man's Canizales I think, and a slightly better version of Davila than Davila beats Pintor, so I go with Canizales.

Zamora is a puncher, but one that can't take it well. He has the least chance.

    Either Canizales or Pintor.

And by "Gaby" I mean his brother. Apologies.
