I was just about to ask that question myself after taking a gander at his Boxrec page. Reminds me of when Clenelo was paired up in a vacant title shot at 154 with career 147 pounder Matthew Hatton who AFAIA wasn't even ranked at 154 and if he was it was totally unwarranted because he'd been campaigning at 147.

Al Haymon is doing his shady dealings. Pretty much gifted that belt to Lara.

With Alvarez too It's the Canelo hype spreading...like when Bobby Pacquiao was on televised cards...just don't remember him actually going for any titles.

You know what, as much as I can't stomach rewarding Inocente's failing to even reach the level of mediocrity with a chance like this (which he blew on the scales anyway even before getting dominated & KTFO, like a true low-down born loser) - really I'm just glad to see Erislandy get back in the W column, and become a 2x champion. After the bitter Hurd & Castaño disappointments, I'd feared the last chapter in his story had been written.

BobPac arguably had better wins than Ramón Álvarez, tbh.

Washed up versions of Kelley & El Famoso >>> anything El Inocente has ever managed (his biggest triumphs being those over.. past-prime Jorge Páez Jr.? Omar Chávez? Washed-up versions of Ben Tackie & Vivian Harris?

Honestly, going 3-1-1 against Baby Lorona Jr. is probably a bigger feather in Bobby's cap than all of Álvarez's greatest work.

    I had Clark winning 96-94
As for Alvarez he ought to have had his purse withheld coming in 4.5 pounds overweight & then folding like a lawnchair

Alvarez lost to shot to bits Rios. I guess this was an "Am I shot yet?" test for Lara.

I had Fundora winning 96-94 but no complaints about it being a draw. Faure looks a decent prospect even if he did fight a low level journeyman, and the less said about the main event, the better haha.
