This, I agree! Porter just needs to fight easier opponents at welterweight. Like that small guy with a lot of fights... I forgot his name... He's not the youngest one...

Lol at those that told me porter beats pac.
Porter might aswell fight pac and cash out. Spence, m Garcia, Crawford, or pac smash him.
Maybe he should go for a rematch with Danny g or thurman.

Ugas proved to be a tricky stylistic match up for Porter, @JMotrain and @Russell were right, I was wrong, kind of.... Porter still did enough to win.:D Regardless, he clearly was badly weight drained, didn't take the match seriously, and to be honest, I'm not sure how well Thurman and Spence perform against Ugas at this point. They'd probably win, but Ugas has turned into a professional awkward unpleasant to fight pain in the ass, and they would not look good doing it.

fight danny, that keeps them both out of the fights actually disputing the top spot. force spence, crawford, pac and mikey to make the big fights. this could be a historical era at welter if these guys just fought the next 8 fights between them.

Pac would have Porter in survival mode. Bank on it.

I don't think he was badly drained and if so he only did it to himself. That said, he was on his toes all fight and dancing on the outside. He looked more like he was fighting the wrong fight than being gassed, though that's not to say he didn't lose a little bit from coming in over weight. His fight plan was plain stupid when he has the clear advantage when he's gotten inside on Ugas. But instead he was trying to feint repeatedly over and over on a guy who had already figured him out and that was idiotic. smh...

Dancing on your toes from the outside, takes a lot less out of you than throwing your arms the entire round and going to war. It looked me like it was energy preserving measure, nothing more.

Yea, I don't buy that. He did the same thing the whole fight. He had enough energy to carry out that moronic fight plan. And Ugas did the smart thing and concentrated on the body work.

Well, some of it had to do with just how awkward Ugas was. I don't think anyone should make any assumptions as to how Porter would perform against anyone else at welterweight based on that performance.

Felt like a draw would have been fair. But a "SD win for Porter" too is fair for the history books.

Sttange how they didn't replay the late knockdown so we could really see what happened. Looked like a legit KD to me.

Imagine if Mikey came out on top undefeated against those guys? Boxing fan heaven. Undisputed p4p #1, undisputed ATG, legacy-wise he'd even creep up on JCC.

Ugas gave the fight away by posturing instead of throwing punches. I have no sympathy when guys lose fights in such a manner. He should have beaten Porter comfortably. He didn't let his hands go though.
