I worry about a fighter like Zamudio. After getting waxed, and stretchered by Fortuna; he looked shopworn while getting pummeled by Tomlinson. I know he's only 23, but I kind of hope that he doesn't return to the ring any time soon.

    Round 1

Paredes is doubling his jab coming forward. Sanchez flicks a double jab back at him. Neither is yet in range. Paredes shoves ahead, through a grappling attempt by Sanchez. Paredes is dropping some elbows on Sanchez's head in the clinch on the ref's blind side, veteran tactics shaking loose to buy room. Jabs traded in center ring, both short, neither committing with a step inside. Clinch. Sanchez lands a slap on Paredes' back. Paredes covers up and partially blocks a right hand and misses a left hook when taking his turn as Sanchez pulls out.

    10-9 Sanchez, close

    Round 2

Paredes is jabbing into the forehead of Sanchez, who sits back lying in wait and flashing his own jabs. Sanchez lunges and grabs when Paredes edges into range. Headbutt on the mouth by Sanchez. Wayne Hedgepeth rules it wasn't flagrant. Paredes is jabbing low and hurling right hands over the top, backing Sanchez up but not connecting flush. Sanchez is ducking and falling to his right, twitching and faking movements as Paredes applies pressure on him behind the jab but doesn't fully close distance.

    10-9 Paredes

    19-19

    Round 3

Heavy rights by Sanchez. Paredes is backed up briefly, gliding with a high shell. Paredes is sticking the jab out stiffly from his chin and looking for uppercuts across the pecs up close. Sanchez just keeps falling in and clubbing with the right hand, sometimes landing clean legal scoring blows and sometimes behind the head. Paredes is advancing, turtle shell up, not throwing much, firing pinpoint jabs. Hook by Paredes misses as Sanchez claps him with a right, ducks, and lands a few on the body. Clinch. Another right by Sanchez bopping Paredes on the head.

    10-9 Sanchez

    29-28 Sanchez
