    Round 2

Roach is blasting Quartey with hooks off the long jab, reaching down for him without giving up his edge in height. Quartey is squatting low, not moving, getting hit atop the head and past either glove, knees starting to buckle. Quartey slides away from the ropes as Roach starts dropping a few body shots with the head attack bearing no fruit. Quartey proves durable under fire, getting hit with jabs on the outside even as he tries sitting and dipping under them. Quartey is squatting outside, earmuffs on, then jumping in and holding while scrabbling at the body. Roach maneuvers him into the ropes and whips in long body shots, doubling Quartey over.

    10-9 Roach

    20-17 Roach

    Round 3

Roach is raising his right fist under his chin, twisting and falling aside in the pocket as Quartey hooks up at him and hits the backs of his fists. Roach counters with a flush hook. Roach is walking Quartey into a corner and tags him with a long right hand. Roach catches Quartey punching his way free with a cuffing left hook behind the head. Quartey down, slip. Roach is paddling Quartey's guard with a jab. Quartey lays back on the ropes. Long hook by Roach. Quartey sags. Quartey escapes down the length of the ropes, steps out, and claps his fists together, egging himself on. Uppercut by Roach, grazing. Quartey stays in close and flails with his right arm up on the top of Roach's back. Left hook by Quartey as he steps to his left, toe to toe with Roach, turning him.

    10-9 Roach

    30-26 Roach

Lamont Roach seems to do a lot of things pretty well in there. Defence is sound, hand checks nicely after throwing his shots, counters effectively and puts his punches together well. And, as Paulie says, he did well to create space for himself to land his punches.

Quartey's no world-beater, but Roach jr might be one to watch, based on that performance. :think

    Round 4

Roach is angling in as Quartey showboats on the outside, shimmying in a squat and pointing both knees in either direction. Roach comes in firing sharp left and right hooks and Quartey is hurt. Roach jabs him near the ropes. Lunging right by Roach, aiming for the nose, just missing as Quartey drops his arms pulling straight back in a reverse trot. Roach cuts the ring off as Quartey sweeps out toward adjacent sets of ropes with lateral movement. Quartey dives in and ties up. Left hook by Roach, reaching. Quartey hurt but firing back. Quartey holds and clubs up top as hard as he can. Roach puts his arms up folded over his face. Quartey runs backward. Roach lines up a big 1-2 and plants Quartey on his butt. Quartey beats the count but is pelted into a corner with right hand leads.

    TKO4!!

That's a good showing by Roach. He's got a very high ceiling. Looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop in the next few years.
