    Round 9: More of same. Both guys throwing hard shots, with Clay whipping the right hand at his foe, only to eat a MASSIVE right hand in return near the end of the round! CLAY hurt! CLAY fires back! Herrera keeps pressuring and pouring it on! BIG exchange at the end!

    10-9 Herrera

    86-84 Clay

    Round 10: Herrera charges forward looking to press the issue. Clay fires back and more exchanges ensue! BIG right hand from Clay! Herrera hurt and backing up! Clay surges forward, walking through the incoming and rocking Herrera with some more rights! BIG uppercut from Clay! Herrera hurt but standing...but the official has decided he's seen enough!

    TKO 10!!!

    Premature stoppage...but Herrera wasn't throwing back during that last salvo, and that last uppecut was pretty brutal.

    I'd watch these guys go at it again.

    There was a decent amount of skill in there but, I usually like a considerable amount more than that, and there was no significance factor. For me, I've already seen a few fights top that this year and believe I will see some more.

    I never get the "significance" factor in the conversation of fight of the year. A good steak is a good steak no matter how much you pay for it or however fancy the restaurant.

    Nice analogy.

    I'd actually say that a club-fight that captures the attention of a boxing fan is perhaps even more notable than a fight with more significance. Fights that are of more significance can sometimes be overrated simply because of their magnitude. If a club-fight gets praised, it's usually because it was very, very good.

    Where I have it is irrelevant to it's taste or cost. You can dress something up but that doesn't change how good it is

    ...to paraphrase, a big with lipstick is still a pig. A great fight, stripped of the glitz and glamour is still a great fight.

    Round 1: Stevenson hangs back and seems content to measure Vasquez, who intially works the jab and then starts to work the body. A couple of nice hooks close the round for Sammy.

    One thing I really like about Fox Sports 1 fights is they a thallus show the ring walks. Something the other networks rarely do. ESPN 2 is the Teddy Atlas show, HBO PPVs have ring walks, but typically the regular shows is just a profile on the fights. Grew up poor, didn't have money, got bullied, trying to make it big in America, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, props to FS1 for actually showing the ring walks.

    That's the point, it's not irrelevant to those who enjoy the factor of significance. When the overall experience means more, everything becomes more enjoyable.

    Round 2: Stevenson more active, trying to work one twos...but most of them are slipped by Vasquez. Vaquez throws a couple of nice combos, one of which compels James to do the Electric Boogaloo near the end of the round!
