Maybe the best US 2012 Olympian pro since turning over.

 

Round 1

Hernandez is tossing long jabs on the outside, moving left. Diaz is batting down at them with his right glove and placing soft right jabs on the middle of the face. Quick left cross and left uppercut by Diaz zeroing in on Hernandez. Diaz is ripping quick right hooks across the face cutting in, staying in Hernandez's chest. Underhanded body slapping combo by Hernandez. Wild right hand up top by Hernandez as Diaz pops in a few smooth body combos. Diaz loops a few lefts into the kidney as Hernandez turns southpaw himself and paws a couple of right jabs. Diaz leaps in with a lead right hook and lines up a vicious left cross at the bell, snapping Hernandez's head back.

Round 2

Diaz is working hard straight lefts on the face and right hooks on the body. Hernandez is pushed into a corner, battling with fat overhand rights, sail full of headwind, and wide underhanded body slaps. Diaz keeps drilling him in the corner, not letting up. Hernandez down. They meet in the middle of the ring and Diaz lands a hard left uppercut on the breadbasket. Hernandez shoves him off and does some forearm & elbow grinding.

Round 3

Diaz is piping the left hand in, straight and hard into Hernandez's face. Hernandez is trapped in a corner. Hernandez slashes his way free, throwing haymakers and big pendulous body shots and backing Diaz into the ropes in a twist-away defensive shell. Diaz resumes his turn coming forward. Big left uppercuts in the lungs, causing Hernandez to wheeze and run. More body shots from Diaz. Hernandez down to a knee. A minute left. Hernandez answers the ref's call, reluctantly. BIG BODY SHOT BY DIAZ!! MASSIVE ORGAN-PUNCTURING HOOK!! Hernandez down hard. Up, but Jack Reiss is unconvinced. He gives Hernandez one more chance. ANOTHER knockdown. Hernandez swings wildly, clubbing Diaz with a right hand from above. Diaz ignores the blow and keeps digging the body. Left uppercut by Diaz square on the chest, Hernandez DOWN AT THE BELL!! Reiss waving his arms by his sides as we go to commercial - ?!?

KO3! (I think!!)

 

That punch landed a nanosecond after the bell sounded, but Diaz started throwing it before hearing it. Borderline.

 

It will either be a No Contest or a KO3.

That's after having returned from and gone back to commercial.

Yeah, I'm satisfied from the replays. There was no foul.

(neither a late hit, nor a "low blow" as Hernandez's corner is claiming)
