Oscar is a legit boxing fan, you can tell his exuberance over the entertainment value of Julian "El Camaron" Ramirez or the potential fireworks of Canelo vs. Kirkland isn't just the usual promoters' sensationalizing.

(plus, you can see a marked difference between his tone when discussing a good match-up and the phony artificial persona he used in most interviews over the years)

    Round 1

Ramirez is pushing his right glove out into Hidalgo's left to bat it away, looking to create a lane for the left cross but not quite snapping a jab out, just nudging Hidalgo's fist. 1-2-3 by Ramirez pushing his way in, the 1-2 knocking Hidalgo's arms loose and the right hook cuffing him behind and just above the ear. Hidalgo backs into the ropes and sweeps a left hook up high on the head of Ramirez but can't stave him off. Ramirez is pushing the right arm out fully extended straight through Hidalgo's guard, obscuring his line of sight with it, and then nailing him with a hard straight left. Heavy body shots by Ramirez just before the bell, thumping loudly on Hidalgo while he is trapped by the ropes.

    10-9 Ramirez

    Round 2

Ramirez is bowling in HARD left uppercuts on the body while chasing Hidalgo, now starting to pop the right jab more aggressively on the front-foot. Hidalgo is bouncing around the ring, wincing visibly from the body shots and sucking wind. Hidalgo is covering up with his elbows tight against his flanks, denying Ramirez space to hit. 1-2s up top now by Ramirez, making his adjustment. Backhanded southpaw jab flipped up into Hidalgo's eyes. HUGE right hook downstairs by Ramirez while leaping toward Hidalgo, landing with both feet off the canvas. Body combos hammered in by Ramirez, but missing a great deal as Hidalgo pivots and kiddie-corners his way out of the pocket cleverly.

    10-9 Ramirez

    20-18 Ramirez

Which is saying a lot, given the hype surrounding Falcão.

    Round 3

Ramirez is banging the body, hunched over forward, pinning Hidalgo against the ropes. Hidalgo permits himself a moment of showboating, raising his arms high over Ramirez's head to give him free access to his ribs, showing he can take his best shots, including a downward spike of a right into Ramirez's cheek. That doesn't last very long, and Hidalgo is soon wriggling free of the ropes and skipping laterally around the ring popping left jabs and looking to aim from the ropes once his back hits them with pinpoint counters, left hooks up top and short rights poked into the belly. Ramirez keeps walking his man down and scores a left hand. Hidalgo shakes it off and drops his arms into a gorilla stance, mocking Ramirez's power, baiting him for more just as the bell sounds.

    10-9 Ramirez

    30-27 Ramirez

    Round 4

Ramirez is sticking his 1-2 on the body and cutting wide arcs around Hidalgo. Ramirez is trading jabs with Hidalgo, controlling range, playing slap-tag, fist on fist, both deflecting the other man's jab when they shoot their own. Finally a power shot, a sneaky left stone-skipped over their jab hands into Hidalgo's mug by Ramirez. Hidalgo takes it well. Squatting lunge by Hidalgo, painting Ramirez's hip seam with a right hand but staying outside the counter zone. Combo by Ramirez at the bell.

    10-9 Ramirez

    40-36 Ramirez
