Fox Sports 1: McWilliams Arroyo vs. Froilan Saludar RBR

That bouncy stuff can land you in trouble if you aren't super quick on your feet. (relative to your opponent)

Saludar has watched too much Pacquiao - or doesn't realize what an unusual athletic specimen his country's hero is. You can't expect just anyone to be able to pull off that kind of in-and-out bounce-and-flurry stuff and not get nailed with a counter. Hell, it has even happened to Pacquiao himself.

I don't know if his chin is all that bad necessarily. Mac-Dub has thirteen kayos in sixteen tries, maybe not bone-crushing but more than solid power - and Froilan did run straight into that; it was a high-speed collision.

 

I don't think he will get knocked out unless he makes a huge mistake like Saludar just did. (and Ruenroeng is clearly a great deal calmer & smarter in the ring than Saludar)

He took some good shots from Ioka & Fuentes well enough. I don't know that Arroyo punches all that much harder than either of them. Maybe somewhere in between, harder than Fuentes (whose pop is actually underrated) but a bit less than Ioka.

 

If he were to have continued as he started over five minute of action, scoring the upset and looking impressive, Saludar could have leapfrogged to #2 @ 112lbs in the Philippines, behind only Casimero. As it played out, he remains frozen out at #4 behind Fuentes and Melindo...though he is the youngest of those runners-up and has perhaps the most upside.

 

I'd say his feet are even faster than Khan's, but his actual footwork sloppier.

Lots of time when doing his jittery bunny-hop thing around the ring, he was barely in an identifiable orthodox stance. There were times writing the RBR when I began typing "Saludar switches southpaw..." but erased it a moment later when it was apparent he was just standing wrong, legs too close together or rear leg (the right in his case, being a lefty) roaming out in front too long.

Check out his feet all throughout Arroyo's finishing sequence. If he was better positioned when he took both of those left hooks they may not have royally ****ed him up so badly.
