I myself have already suggested Carl might have deliberately come in a pound over to avoid becoming Russells mandatory. That is entirely possible alright.
If Carl did this he has a problem. The fight is likely to go ahead once Gutierrez recovers. Carl cant very well come in a pound overweight a second time for Gutierrez, and then turn around and make the weight for Selbys world title in his very next fight. Well he could do it - but his credibility would be damaged badly if he did.

 

Rumours on Twitter that Frampton has left Cyclone and will announce a 5 fight deal with Hearn / Matchroom in the morning.

He was last night, anyway. Could be a load of BS. It is Twitter, after all. I couldn't see it myself, but then stranger things have happened.

To be fair to Carl, he's made no secret he wants to earn as much as he can before he retires. Shane seemed to think there was maybe 5 left in him. Who's going to get him more ££, Cyclone or Matchroom?

 

Maybe he goes back to matchroom. Matchroom have far more promotion reach than cyclone.

 

I think that rumor was started by an account called 'Eddie Hearns' so I wouldn't put much credence to it.

 

Why is there obviously a split coming?
