Frampton getting nowhere near enough praise for his performance last night. There's two reasons Quigg wouldn't throw punches for the first 6 rounds; Frampton was skillfully elusive and Quigg was afraid of his sharp counters, like the one that broke his jaw. Why would Frampton do more than he did to win them rounds? He had to respect Quiggs power in case he got countered himself. Frampton worked his socks off from the first bell and out boxed Quigg who was in a shell and very hard to hit himself.

When Frampton tired a little and Quigg upped the work rate Quigg had success but the rounds were still close, people are forgetting that. Frampton knew he had the fight in the bag in them few rounds but just to seal the win, he came out in the 12th and won the round clearly, leaving no doubt on the scorecards.

People saying the result would be different if Quigg put the heat on earlier are deluded. A fresh and sharp Frampton would have picked him off. Quiggs successful few rounds were a lot to do with him being fresh through inactivity and Frampton being tired. Frampton was tired because he was actually working hard from the first bell.

Quigg did land one big blow in the 11th but Frampton weathered the storm and came back very strong in the 12th. The fight wasn't a classic but I think Quigg is to blame for that. He wasn't prepared to take chances to win any of the first 6 rounds and Carl just did what he had to do. I'm not saying Carls performance was a career defining moment but it's certainly being underrated because the fight didn't turn out to be a classic.

The fact is Carl went to Quiggs back yard and won the fight by at least four rounds. For more than half the fight he showed he could easily outbox Quigg and in the last round; he also showed he can out fight Quigg when he needed to. Give the chap some bloody credit.

Quigg is the one who deserves respect.

Look at the state of his jaw.

I thought the fight was fine, but then again it went the way I expected it to, I had no expectation of a barnburner. Frampton did a great job just like I thought he would, Quigg had 3 good rounds and he showed a degree of toughness due to the broken jaw and deserves some credit for fighting through that.

How does that change what I was expecting? I wasn't expecting the fight to be an all out war. Frampton went down twice against Gonzalez and was that an all out war or a barn burner, no it wasn't. I figured Quigg would be worn down and stopped late, perhaps on a counter or a body shot, but that doesn't change the fact that I was expecting a slow paced tactical affair.

Not getting near enough credit for his victory over Quigg???

I dont know, mate! Frampton won yesterday's fight, but like quite a few people who watched it I thought that if Quigg hadnt been so bloody inactive within the first few rounds he could have won the encouter with Frampton.
Quigg has only blame himself for yesterday's loss.He should have gone out with blazing guns and give it a serious try from the first minute
Frampton didnt do that much in the first half of yesterday's fight, just enough to win all or most of the rounds on the judges' scorecards.I for one wasnt really impressed with Frampton's performance.
Anyway! he won the fight fair and square.Honour where honour is due.
Nonetheless,I would like to watch a rematch between them.I guess we would watch a totally different fight then.More fun two watch, more entertaing, and more action early from Quigg's part.
Nah! Doesnt necessarily mean that I would bet my coins on Quigg in a rematch. You always need two to dance a tango.Quigg just didnt want to dance in the first half of yesterday's fight.

Now that we know Quigg had a really badly broken jaw (although I don't know if anyone ever had a goodly broken jaw) I believe the fight results are null and void. A rematch is in order.

Quigg had a broken jaw before the fight?

Either way Rigo would embarrass both these cats, and they'll both continue to duck him

Rematch would be in Belfast, Quigg hasn't a hope over there.

He deserves all the accolades after he fights and beats Leo Santa Cruz or Rigo.

I enjoyed the fight and the skills Frampton demo'd...had not really watched him before honestly...I think he fights Rigo very close...and I think he could beat LSC.

As the saying goes there are levels to this and Frampton showed he was above Quigg.

I liked the fight. Wasn't as exciting but it was the only competitive match last night.
