Is Hearn trying to muscle in on Frampton, entice him away from Mcguigan, start leaking private info then pounce and sign him. He's done plenty of that before.
Carl does seem to have a lot of 'extra' expenditure that most boxers dont have. In addition to the usual cut to the trainer and manager and taxman Carl probably has to pay a % to Al Haymon and also Carl uses very advanced modrn sports science in terms of diet, involving sophisticated weight management & allergy testing etc etc. That sorta stuff doesnt come cheap: the specialist doctors and labs who do it know how to charge! Mind you what would you rather do - skimp like Quigg & Gallagher or Speculate to accumulate like Shane & Carl. Which boxer would you rather be today? Scott or Carl. One sitting at home, out for 6 months with a broken jaw - the other powering onwards and upwards to global superfights?
Give it time... Hearn is a sore loser. Whenever he divulges any of this information he just comes across as a spoilt brat.
It's 50% well spent as he will continue to earn big money in his next fight .......... Quigg on the other hand won't even be remotely close. "Speculate to accumulate" and all that.
I do wonder if Frampton is getting taken for a ride. Barry is his manager and promoter, surely this could be a conflict of interest. Having his son as trainer is working though this and his other children working in the promotions etc is foo much for me. I wouldn't like the family ties with my career if I was frampton. It's going really well and I hope it continues...though if I were a betting man there's a fall out waiting to happen down the line over %s and money being given to the mcguigan family. If I were Carl I'd make sure I had damn good INDEPENDANT advice on my career/management.
Barrys running a buisness , gets his 25% and he will be paying for the employees he has ,, OK he employs familly but heh , its he's choice has long has they do the job its his buisness , , Frampton will pay any manager the fee and he still has to pay his trainer no matter who it is ,,, regards Haymon , well its a lot to give away but it seems if he's going to give Hayman a cut, he must be getting something back . 50% of a $2000 fight is a lot ,, but if he's in the couple of million bracket , and has a few fights , its well worth it when he retires a wealthy man , and remember if he is a director of Barrys company theres a cut of further profits , if Barry is luccky enough to sign a couple more big names ,,, I think Frampton would of sought advice , if he did'nt he's a fool , and has the above poster said , a fall out waiting to happen
It's a new and different model ...a departure from the boxer...manager....promoter model. Carl and the McGuigans are all in it together. The rising tide lifts all boats....they all.In their own way , performing their individual roles, have a part to play and an interest in, the overall success of the team. As far as the risk of a fallout occurring, it's not like traditional boxer...manager...promoter relationships are immune to that either, let's not forget where human relationships involving money are concerned, there will ALWAYS be a risk of a row. As I said earlier who would you rather Be today, Quigg or Frampton?
Take Frampton out of the equation, and wheres the money coming from ? It's like being a part owner of a Chocolate Teapot company.
The signing of Josh Taylor was a real coup, have the potential to dominate the Scottish market going forward
He is a Director but don't know about shareholder. Cyclone Promotions is owned by a nominee company so can't see ownership split. Which is a bit odd and unnecessary. The gym however is split between Barry and Shane. Which part does Carl own?
