(According to the IBF, they had ordered an eliminator between Frampton, ranked number two, and Nonito Donaire, who was ranked third. Donaire informed them he was now a full-fledged featherweight. So then after a few other fights were turned down by ranked challengers (Frampton) , Avalos and Rey Vargas will now fight for the top spot in the IBF 122-pound ratings.)

    Anyone hear about this?

Why scrap his high ranking with the IBF,is there a Santa Cruz fight on the horizon?

What exactly are Frampton and his team up to.

brain goes a bit slow with me sometimes.
donaire has an elimination fight for super bantam..but he informs them he's fully fledged feather now....so was it him or frampton turned it down ?
just scratching my head over the fully fledged feather bit.

Donaire says he is moving up so he will not be taking part in the final eliminator ordered by the ibf, then it was supposed to be Frampton and Avalos and Frampton pulled out of that so now its Chris Avalos and Ray Vargas in a final eliminator.

No idea what Frampton and his team are up to tbh.

If such a fight was to take place on the island of Ireland I would guess it would have to be in Belfast Odessy arena. I dont think any other indoor arena is all that much bigger or better, and outdoors is just not possible in the Irish weather - just look outside today for example, you just cannot plan ahead with the Irish climate, even in "summer"!

Kiko is the IBF champion. I have no idea what this is about.
If I took a wild guess I would say that maybe they have an equally decent opportunity with one of the other belts. Apparently Martinez is going to fight Quigg so maybe team Frmpton don't want to have to wait around. And if Quigg won than they may have to wait even longer.

would either winner of that fight want to go near frampton....kiko cause frampton has already proved his master and kiko knows a rematch wont change that....and quigg or...fast eddie...wont want to do business with frampton..huge money spinner or not...fast eddie will hold a grudge against frampton I'm guessing.

There's Windsor Park!!! I know it's a bit of a dump, but it would hold more than the Odessy Arena and would no doubt be a great atmosphere.
Then again Frampton might not be even fighting in Belfast next he could fight Santa Cruz in America or he could be going to Spain for Kiko? McGuigan said don't rule anything out.

Regardless of what ye say, I feel the dodgy Irish weather makes it extremely unlikely any outdoor promotion will work. I dont know Windsor Park though - maybe it MIGHT work.
The only "big" indoor venue on the island of Ireland is the O2 in Dublin (14,000 capacity). But the core of Framptons support is in Belfast and it will be hard to see him fighting elsewhere in Ireland. Thats just how I feel anyway.
Odessy holds 9,000 max. I dunno? Rough calculation here - At €100 a ticket thats a gate take of 900,000. Would this be enough? Dunno?
