Explain to me how networks like HBO and Showtime, with all their clout, all their supposed matchmaking skills, all the money they can throw around, CANNOT put on as decent a matchup as this one?

The showtime card tomorrow has nothing even close to that level of quality.

They can't put a decent match as this one because unfortunately Frampton and Martinez are hardly known and Frampton had zero fights in the US while Martinez only had once. Frampton, if he wins, is still a young rising fighter. Eventually, with the right promotion and management he will make it far enough to headline on HBO or SHOWTIME.

Is the best matchup since Gonzalez v Yaegashi this morning, and will be the best fight until Segura v Estrada later that evening. :yep

It's better than Showtime's triple header though that's for sure

Not even the best match up of this Week.

Should be a good fight though.

It's better than either of those fights when you consider its significance to the division, the mindset of both fighters coming in, and the other styles matchup.

    This.

Frampton vs. Kiko II is a real good one.

    Wrong. :nono

The Gonzalez v Yaegashi fight for MUCH more significant to the Flyweight division, than Frampton-Martinez to the Jr Featherweight division being that it was for the lineal title and established who is number 1 in the division- and the winner belonging on pound for pound lists. The Segura v Estrada establishes the top contender for that belt- in a fight that probably will happen.

Whoever wins in Frampton and Martinez won't ranked above Rigondeaux or, maybe even Santa Cruz, nor will anyone be putting them on pound for pound lists. And due to more lucrative options available the winner is unlikely going to fight Rigo. It's also a rematch that would be needless had Frampton got a title shot before Martinez.
