Someone from the BBBoC said it done 320k which matches around what Hearn said. No idea if there's any truth to it.

I don't get the hate for Ppv on here? It's like 16 quid. I pay my window cleaner more than that is everyone or here signing on or what

Its more the principle and the fact we pay a monthly subscription already. People like you are the kind of people hearn has brainwashed. You'd probably pay 16 quid for bellew- cleverley 3 just because " its only 16 quid"

However if you compare it to a ticket - which are about £40 at cheapest - 16 quid doesn't seem too bad, and you get to watch it in the comfort of your own gaff without some drunk ****head next to you screaming the words to Sweet Caroline. Win Win really.

That would be a valid argument if you had half a chance of getting a £40 ticket to a Matchroom show that's on PPV...

Not including Wembley, where you needed binos from the cheap seats to see anything.

Mate it costs me about 60 quid to take my kids to the cinema these days. There are Ppv fights about once every 2 months if you seriously get that upset over 16 quid you need to loosen up. Reminds me of my dad when I was a kid complaining about the price of tooth paste.

I totally agree with this!! Most of the people on here will spend more money on cigarettes and or alcohol every week than what a ppv costs and then boast that they watch on free streams!!

I understand that we pay a SKY subscription and should get boxing for that but lets be honest PPV is here to stay and no matter how much we complain about it over forums that isn't changing because PPV boxing is aimed at the casual fan and not the hardcore fans!!

If you don't want to buy PPV events then don't buy them, in the UK we get off with the pricing of PPV events because in the US they can charge $60-$99 and I'm sure that the Mayweather vs Pacquiao was $125 for the event in HD so the fact we pay £16:95 doesn't seem that bad in comparison really.

I'd see that as more of an argument for PPV if anything.

    1. If the shows are so popular they sell out in minutes then clearly they're somewhat in demand and marketable. I don't object to having to pay a relatively small fee in comparison to a ticket price.

    2. I don't have to mess about with online queues involving the inevitable stress and disappointment. Instead I just press my red button and its sorted.

One of the things I also find odd is when people moan about cards and specifically undercards not being worth the PPV fee. There are people in the arena who have paid 40, 50, 100+ quid to see the same show but apparently its not worth £16.95. :rofl (plus that's 16.95 per household not per person watching it).

At the end of the day it comes down to what value it holds to you and only you, as is the case with any commercial purchase. I'm not on an amazing salary but for me 16.95 is nothing, especially when compared to other forms of entertainment (like the cinema as noted above) or the astronomical amounts I spend to follow my football club.
