You asked us to consider "Carl's power". You also reminded us that quigg got his jaw broke. You were also alluding to Carl's power there. Carl was a relatively big puncher at 122 but it's a different ball game at 126 was my point!
Your been unfair to Martinez there pal. He may not of been the same animal he was at 122 but he was far from shot. He had a near on 3month camp for Josh and he certainly saw it as a chance to get back in the mix. He's had a couple of losses by then but that was against top fighters. Kiko was still only about 29yrs old as well by the time he met josh, maybe 30. That was a real good learning fight for Josh and one that set him up well on his road to the world title.
I think those who are going back to the Martinez fight are seemingly forgetting that he’s had two very impressive performances since then. Every single fighters development trajectory is unique. There is no doubt that Frampton has the greater pedigree, the better CV, the memorable nights...but it’s all about Saturday and where they are at as they make that ring walk. Frampton has created his legacy, he’s been incredible and a credit to his nation. He’s at the tail end of his career. You’re right in a sense Len...he’s got a world title but when you compare his cv to Frampton’s he’s still got a lot to prove. Warrington is still only 28 and with a Selby scalp on his cv he’s just beginning to create his own legacy now. At 28 (I think) Frampton was having a domestic dust up with Quigg and was yet to fight Santa Cruz. Things to consider...Warrington is the naturally bigger, younger man. Frampton has had struggles in making weight in the past. He’s 31 and it doesn’t get any easier. His 27 fights in comparison to Warrington’s have put a lot more mileage on the clock imo. Frampton is considering retiring in 2019. Warrington is just beginning to think about doing all the things Frampton has already done. It’s gonna be a war on Saturday and if Frampton brings anything less than 100% he’ll get beat.
Was actually contemplating on getting this instead of Whyte/Chisora. Sucks that they both on the same night.
It’s killing me mate. BT has the best card by a mile but my missus wants the Sky card because of the old ‘I don’t want to watch fighters who weigh less than me’ line. I’ve never asked her weight but she doesn’t say anything negative about fighters 160 and above, hmmm.
Were shot to sh1t I don't agree with @tall,Len you don't want to give Josh any credit that's fine with me.Frampton got his work cut out in this fight & might lose. For me this is a very hard fight for both guys,we have youth in Josh v Carl I see this as a close fight over 12 rounds.
I thought you were definitely ordering the frampton v what's his name fight 20. I m shocked. I don't know which is worse, saying Josh might win or letting a girl push you around!!
Mate, she pushes me around (psychologically) constantly. She’s tried to hit me a couple of times but I can see her shoulder twitching and she winds her right hand up ready to throw it like Wilder. Make her miss every time #shadesofali
Bro i swear to god its the same my end lol The misses has heard of Frampton and Warrington only cos i bang on about it but she has zero intrest in the fight! Its all about the big boys!
I fancy Frampton Saturday night. I believe the move to Moore rejuvenated him and he's not far from his prime. He's not showing major signs of aging in his last few fights. He may not hit as hard as he did at superbantamweight, but he has enough sting in his digs to make guys think twice. I rate Warrington but his come forward style is made for Frampton. I see Carl taking a few punches but countering sweetly all night. The only way to beat Frampton is boxing at range and using a size advantage like LSC did in the second fight. I just don't see Warrington doing that and that's why I believe Frampton's superior skills win him the fight. Frampton UD by two or three rounds in an excellent fight. Josh will bring out the best of Carl and push him. I hope the fact Frampton said he's leaving Warren doesn't affect him with a dodgy decision. The promoters fighter always seem to get the cards as we know. By the way Whyte/Chisora is a hugely entertaining scrap. I just refuse to pay for fights with guys participating who have never, and will never win world titles. Something not right about it.
Weigh in tomo Len, Carl will be sat in the sauna as we speak, trying to cut the weight. Then there's the rehydration clause on Sat morning to think about before he starts rehydrating. Tough times Len tough times.
Whyte recently beat Parker, who won a world title. Seems odd to suggest he never will. Also, talent doesn't necessarily equate to entertainment. I'd sooner pay to watch a football match that was a mid-table 4-3 back and forth job than watch last season's league winners turn someone over 1-0.
Lee Selby can box & Josh beat him easy, this fight is @ Featherweight Josh true weight class. Frampton is going to have to keep this on the outside to win,i don't think he will. Feather Fisted hmmmm it's the amount that might come Carls way that gives him problems. I Iike Carl but my gut tells me Warrington wins.
I think it’s hard to judge Warrington’s Selby win until we see how Selby is in his next fight. Selby looked exhausted and drained from round 1/2, pushing his punches. Straight after he said he was moving up as he just couldn’t do the weight anymore. It could be an excuse because he did get a beating but it was widely speculated about his struggles making weight for fights beforehand. What I’m basically saying is, there’s an argument Warrington got a massive advantage in that fight, it was impossible for Selby to use his slick style whilst being tired and getting zero rest from Warrington. Frampton probably won’t struggle weight wise so much and I can still see him countering Warrington a lot, little six inch steps back, or on an angle, then letting Warrington over extend and coming right down the pipe. I’m not sure Warrington can handle someone this technically gifted, workrate will only take you so far if the other man is physically 100% and wants it as much as you.
