I don't like calling boxers cowards but I can't help but have that opinion regarding Frampton and Santa Cruz treatment of Rigondeaux.
If you support these two, you're aiding and abetting the demise of boxing. The best should be fighting the best.

It's not their fault that they're not fighting Rigo, the networks decided Rigo was about as marketable as a potato. So they decided they didn't want to make him a main event fighter.
Rigo then went and fought on a Frank card in Britain, and is now facing Moises Flores who isn't a bad fighter.
Calling Frampton a ducker when he's faced the best fighters in his division - Quigg, Santa Cruz and beat a former world champ Martinez.
I think Rigo is the issue, he simply isn't someone who will draw in a crowd.

As I recall, of the two only Santa Cruz was honest about it and flat out said that he wasn't ready to face an elite opponent like Rigo. He bluntly stated that Rigo was too good for him.
I don't recall Frampton responding at all to Rigo, and pulled a Golovkin Vs Lara silent treatment.

The netwoks didn't say that Rigo was boring. That was his slimy promoter, Bob "Bipolar" Arum.

Quigg VS Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz VS Frampton are more exciting fights and make him more money.
What does he gain from Rigo? - a stinking fight that he loses on points, none of the networks are interested in Rigo, I don't blame Frampton. I'd rather he fight in fights that are worth watching.

They're not ducking Rigo out of fear, they're ducking him because it's a lose lose, it won't draw in TV figures/money/ and you're going to get outboxed.

Fighters value making as much money as they can in the game and Rigo isn't a good fight for either man.

Rigo, the face-breaker, has a repetition.

I've seen Rigo fight and he's a very classy boxer, but he's boring as hell, has little personality and can't attract casuals. It's not a lie, it's simply a fact that Rigo is a brilliant boxer but his style lends itself to snoozefests - like Lara etc.
Why do you think Canelo/GGG are big draws? why is Kovalov a big draw? Fans want to see knockouts.

Mayweather became a pantomime villain and used his money persona and arrogance to get in crowds - as if he didn't have that personality and charisma he too may have been snubbed by the TV networks.

They both will make more money fighting Rigo than anyone else, just like Donaire made more money fighting Rigo than anytime in his career.

It's a disgrace that you're using drawing power to excuse blatant ducking. Rigo vs Donaire did good numbers. If the fans believe that an opponent posses some type of Threat to Rigo, the don't have an issue tuning in.

Rigo is a supreme boxer but his performances have turned off the networks and given fighters a great reason not to face him. He isn't a money fight, it would almost certainly be boring and you'll most likely lose.

HBO lost viewers during the Agbeko fight. The undercard had more viewers and they declined more throughout the fight. They obviously weren't pleased with that and if the network isn't going to push guys to fight him, why would they?

I'm all for the best fighting the best but let's be honest, only the most hardcore fans actually want to watch him.
