Ummm taxi for you? What belt does he hold? Who claims he's a world champ? Think it's Quigg ur on about, u know the guy who won't get in the ring with Frampton for love nor money
:rofl Easy their killer. These keyboard commandos crack me up. I laugh reading you little **** ants talk tough. If matrix were here he`d laugh too.:yep
Thats 3 top level opponents in a row thay Carl has essentially stopped with one punch each. All of those guys were at least as tough as Rigo. Why is it so hard to believe that he COULD stop Rigo? At some point surely over 12 rounds Carls fist will meet Rigos chin at least once, no? Even if he has lost EVERY round up to that point.... We have seen what happens when Carl connects, so....
Britain has got two very solid fighters in Quigg and Frampton, but Rigondeaux's talent is such that he would probably spank the pair of them, easily. It would be great if team Frampton agreed to a Belfast showdown. Let's stop skirting around the division's master and pretending to be headed for the top. In more competitive divisions, multiple champions may claim their own portion of glory, but when one man is clearly the best, no super-bantamweight should be content until the real Jackel has been poached.
But is that really the case? Think about what you are saying here. Assuming Rigo is a better "boxer" than Carl is fair enough..but there is a bit more to it than that. Rigo is not particularly robust physically. Carls power could have a devastating effect on him, no? How "superior" is Rigo - he will literally have to win every minute of every round to stay safe against Carl. Is he really THAT much better?? Or to put it another way, Rigo will have to be "lucky" all the time - Carl will only have to be "lucky" once! Maybe its time to start thinking the previously unthinkable.... Is that so impossible ...Im beginning to wonder...
Donaire likely hits just as hard as Frampton and while he managed to score a knock down it wasn't enough to finish off Rigondeaux.
Frampton much more "well rounded" than Nonito, though. Nonito a bit of a one-armed-bandit, one-trick-pony. Take away the highlight reel left hook counters and Nonito is not so great IMO. Certainly not at 122. Carl far more complete, superior athlete etc and therefore more dangerous IMO. Dont forget too that even in terms of punch alone (Nonitos main strength) Carl is probably superior there too. Carl can ko you at any time to head or body - with BOTH hands.
I confess that 'easily' may have been too dismissive a term, but Rigondeaux doesn't just box you, he hurts you; powerhouse Donaire was marked up good, and Frampton's fair complexion would be under serious threat. Though very small in stature, Rigondeaux is very assertive, explosive even. When Donaire and Agbeko attempted to press him he swooped sharp uppercuts and then drilled that left down the middle. Not a Fancy-Dan in the slightest. As has been previously said, if Frampton were to rely on stalking and loading-up he would eat 10-1, perhaps 10-0. Maybe not 'easily', though I'm not sure we've seen Rigondeaux shift out of third yet.
regardless of what anyone think of the outcome of rigo vs frampton, its the hardest fight for rigo in the 122 division
Excellent reply Ted. Ive seen both Carl and Rigo in the flesh and Im well aware that you are right about Rigo being a spiteful, hurtfull damaging puncher - not a "fancy dan" at all, as you say. He is a lot slighter in build/physique than Carl though, and at some point or points in the fight Carl is bound to hit him with SOMETHING, right? If Cordoba could, so can Carl surely? Also Rigo (while not nearly so one-armed as Nonito) is mainly a threat with his left. Carl has equal pop on both sides.
correction : frampton will try to KO rigo before tasting his power and defensive slickness then his output will lower to 5 punches a round (most of which are lazy defensive jabs). and then you will come on and say "OH RIGO IS RUNNING, SUCH A BORING FIGHTER" and the rest of us will laugh at you look forward to it =]
