    Frampton's opponent is being announced Wednesday when the press conference for his upcoming fight in Belfast will take place.

    Who will the opponent be? Social media has been very quiet about this.

    The only confirmation that we have is that it's NOT Selby - from Frampton himself.

    Thoughts on opponent?

    Usually there is speculation but there's literally nothing solid, they have kept the identity of the opponent very quiet.

    Apparantly its Mijares.
    Not overwhelmed but it could be worse i suppose.
    Mijares best work was at superfly and that was about 10 yrs ago. He hasnt achieved much since then. His reign came to an end against darchinyan.
    He was beaten easy by lsc at 122 and thats as far as my memory goes with him.
    I was hoping it was going to be mares

    I share your thoughts, not great but it isn't that bad really. He's on a run of sorts and has some minor WBC trinket I think

    Should be - not heard anything to suggest a split.

    Only been stopped once in 66 bouts, by Darchinyan, in 2008, so fans should get their monies worth.

    Its been confirmed to be in NI I think aswell, so they probably would struggle to get someone top level to travel there.

    I've read it's Andres Gutierrez, lost recently to Mijares on an MD. Don't know much about him to be honest.

    If this is at Windsor Park football stadium it's a pity it's not looking like being a big name as this will be a pretty big event for Belfast/Northern Ireland, it'll probably still draw a big crowd as it could be Frampton's last fight in Belfast
