Francesco Damiani V Floyd Patterson?

    Damiani was pretty good and would hold his own vs Patterson. This is a toss up because Floyd had fast combinations but Francisco decent. Could Floyds left hook drop FD INGO style - possibly

    I like your comment that Damiani was a hidden gem. It's true. He came to my attention through his fights with Biggs. Biggs beat him 4 out of 4 as amateurs including the Olympic final but as a pro Damiani really came into his own. He beat DuPloy and Biggs and was European champ.
    He was winning the Mercer fight until one punched changed everything. He would've given anybody a tough night. He hardly fought outside of Italy until way too late. I'm not sure why that was. There was much talk of a Tyson fight but then Tyson lost to Douglas. Damiani didn't have the fights he should have had when he was at his prime in my opinion (88-90) He was very competent.
