Whatca think? I's Damiani good enough to beat The Duke? He was beating Mercer till caught by him later on, can he get a win over Morrison?
Interesting match, initial reaction is that Damiani would be ahead on points but as he tires Tommy delivers the knock out blow
Alright Noel. I'm actually thinking along the lines of Morrison being the one that tires, and FD out pointing him or scoring a late ko. But either scenario is likely with this two.
I think Damiani rides out the early storm with his skills and stops Morrison in the late rnds .Francesco was a better fighter than he looked and had pretty good power .
I was just thinking about this one, Damiani rips him in the early to mid rounds. Francesco's power has gotten kinda underrated due to his best opposition having cast iron chins- But he still took out men like Biggs, Du Plooy, and Martin. He'll completely control the rounds like he did against Mercer and drop Tommy multiple times ahead of a stoppage with The Duke's face being puffed up. Also, as a side note, Damiani kinda reminds me of Big John Tate, for multiple reasons.
Damiani has become kind of an obscure boxer nowadays. But I've watched a bunch of his fights and he was actually really quite good. He looks like a potato dumpling but he was a big guy who had good stamina, defence and toughness and a high level all-round skillset. He's not a guy that you could just run through. Tommy obviously has the power and the spectacular left hook but Damiani has probably everything else. I reckon Damiani could outpoint him down the line.
Damiani looked so awkward in the ring, but it must've been part of the façade. The trunks being up too high, his constant flaring of his elbows- It meant nothing when it came time to get down to business.
