They fight February 28th. Anybody seen Pianeta fight? How do you like his chances?

This is a 50-50 fight in my mind. Pianeta is powerful and young, but also limited.

Haven't seen Pianeta yet but Sprott will be a great test for him.

Sprott is the perfect gatekeeper for the European Heavyweight scene

That is why Sprott is a name.

The only decent fighter he has beaten is Danny Williams.

I will bet my money on Sprott against the inexperienced German based Italian.
Pianeta can box and punch a little bit,but I for one dont like his lack of aggressiveness.
I very much doubt that he is mentally tough enough to duke it out with an experienced vet like Sprott.

I dont know I'd class guys like Timo Hoffman as decent, and Sprott has been jobbed more than once.

Anyone who KO's Fraudley gets my respect :happy

I think Sprott will get robbed here. Only seen Pianeta once and that was against the limited Scott Gammer and he looked really poor before Gammer broke his hand and had to quit. Sprott has enough to beat Pianeta based on the Gammer fight but I don't think he'll get the decision.

Gammer broke his hand in his encounter with Pianeta?? I didnt know that!

I for one thought that Pianeta didnt look that bad against Gammer, but I didnt know that he broke his hand during his fight with Pianeta.
Anyway! I am not sold on Pianeta. Too one-dimensional,too slow, too stiff-and I truly dislike his lack of aggressiveness.
Well,I am probably too harsh on him. He is a young fellow with a good punch. He may turn out better than I consider him to be right now.

Sprott's not exactly aggressive himself, and he's had some trouble with southpaws. I suspect Pianeta will win a very boring fight. I think you're underrating him though Odo. He might not be aggressive, but he's relatively hard to hit given his size, and he's an awkward southpaw with a good jab and a long reach. I don't know if he's top level, but I don't see any reason he can't be a good Euro-level fighter, and much better than Italy's best current HW Vidoz.

That would probably be the fastest KO in boxing history
