Come on AJ was landing the straight right at will he has no real boxing skill saying he might beat some washed up fighters like Molina doesn’t mean anything he shouldn’t be boxing for his own sake that was a sickening KO and it was purely because he didn’t know how to defend it
Oh I agree with that, it was embarrassing from Fury, and yes most top heavyweights would deal with Ngannou. I don’t think many would do it so brutally and ruthlessly, maybe Wilder once but I’m not sure he could do that anymore. I think this version of AJ KOs Wilder early and as for Fury, it really comes down to what version of Tyson shows up.
Yes he’s completely open to it but how many other heavyweights are as well? The division is hardly deep and again, even though Fury was out of shape, to do that to him showed a decent level of ability and power. He would still beat a lot of heavyweights (the journeymen many top fighters have been dining off) but he doesn’t stand much of a chance against the top 15-20 guys. The KO was also sickening because it’s AJ - one of the biggest hitters in the division and also one of the best heavyweights in the business.
I think you still have to keep him in the top 10. He arguably beat Fury who's no less than top 3. He just got nailed by Joshua. Styles make fights. Frazier gave Ali everything he could handle in that 3rd fight then got flattened by Foreman the next time out. It happens.
Outside the top 25. I don't think he would beat real prospects like Torrez at this stage. He should focus on his MMA career and leave the boxing game alone. AJ really did a demolition job on him.
Honestly he was not nailed by a lucky punch after a competitive fight but he was nailed because he was absolutely clueless and defenseless against the precision , speed and power of the shots from aj. He most probably did not even see them coming . I still have no idea why he looked good against fury in this case
Francis is not a boxer, his performance against Fury was more because of Fury being a lazy undisciplined dosser, and not coming in with serious intent in mind. It was treated like an exhibition match where the titles were not even on the line, to Fury it was a money grab where he only showed up to play around with NGannou. If Fury was legit serious he would have battered NGannou from pillar to post for 10 rounds.
He was #33 before the fight with AJ. He's now at #238. He's #1 out of the 3 HW boxers from Cameroon. Funny thing is, out of those 3, their record together is 0-5.
