Round 2

Canció is doing some nice work, jabbing his way in, changing the altitude on the lead range-finder every few launches and using slap-down parries with the right glove hovering in wait out in front of his face to time the Sharibayev jab. Sharibayev is finding places to score wherever possible, throwing double uppercuts just past the braided elbow tips of Canció, or reaching around to pound him on the outer ridge of the pectorals with short explosive combos from a partial crouch.

Tonight is Sharibayev's first scheduled 10-rounder, and he is yet to ever be taken deeper than a half-minute into the seventh. Canció has thrice gone ten, and seen the 9th and 8th once each.

 

Round 3

Canció is working combinations, laying in on Sharibayev and smothering him in the middle of the ring. Chopping rights behind the jab, sprinkling in body shots. Canció hurts Sharibayev! Canció stays on him and keeps working the left jab and stone-skipping right over the guard. Sharibayev is ducking low and throwing hard flurries to fend Canció off, but to no avail. Every time Sharibayev recedes and sheathes his fists Canció is atop him, applying heavy pressure, big powerful body shots. LEFT HOOK AT THE BELL DROPS SHARIBAYEV! He's saved by the bell.

Damn, might see an upset. Just three minutes ago I probably wouldn't have believed that.

 

Ill portent for next month? Big underdog hurting an undefeated Kazakh? Hmm...

 

Round 4

Canció is forcing the fight and eats a counter right, unbothered. Huge body shots from Canció, digging away. Sharibayev on the run. Canció is marching him into the ropes, forcing him to duck and twist in the wind, blocking what he can but absorbing punches as he pulls out, throwing light flurries to cover his escape. Canció is grabbed by the forearms and pulled into a clinch but jerks free and shoeshines the face of Sharibayev, driving him across the ring. Canció is jabbing hard at the face, Sharibayev leaning himself deeply to his side to slip with his arms hanging arrogantly low, showing off his reflexes but getting at least partially grazed by Canció's lunging shots and hurt a few more times near the bell.

Gonna be a long next six rounds for a guy that has never been in such deep waters before...

 

Round 5

Canció is hurling himself at Sharibayev and unfurling jabs at the face, making him sink into a low crouch where Canció is able to dust him with a sweeping right across the nape, sometimes grazing his temples or brow. Sharibayev is flurrying the body and still relying on quick jerking motions and leans to slip punches rather than simply put his guard up. It bites him in the ass when Canció doubles a stiff jab into the face as Sharibayev is backing straight up and PLUNKED ON HIS ASS ONCE MORE! Again saved by the bell.
