Apologies, guys, I was able to suss out the middle initial and the fact that he's a "Jr." (his dad Rod Sr. lives in Bunola, PA with a surprising amount of information publicly available on him, including arrest records ) but I was unsuccessful in doing my preparatory sleuthing homework in determining what the "A" is short for. I am 99% certain on Rod (in the case of both Sr. & Jr.) being short for Roderick as opposed to Rodney (or Rodger, or Rodolfo, etc) however.

I even looked up Pennsylvanian census records (but reined up short of pretending to be a lawyer and ponying up $60 for a copy of a birth certificate ) ...and did e-stalk both Rod and his dad making these politely-framed inquiries of them a few days ago, but never got a response.

 

I keep expecting Mario & Luigi to pop out from each sock, run up his legs, and break the bricks on the bottom row to grab some coins.

 

Round 1

Vargas Peláez is sticking the jab into the gut and walloping Salka on the sides with a two-fisted pincer-style body-shot attack while hunched forward. Salka is standing his ground and mirroring Vargas' movements, throwing jabs to chest & chin between Vargas' thumbs and working roundhouse body shot combos before giving up ground and trotting laterally to spiral away from the headstrong Mexican.

Round 2

Vargas Peláez is bowing in, letting the Salka jab and downward flurries sluice off his goalposts. Vargas Peláez is very measured, almost too economical, and not landing at high enough a percentage to offset this. Just a few jabs thrown up from a bent-over position by Vargas Peláez, and body shots in a diffuse smattering, but Salka just manning the ramparts and dumping barrels of figurative hot oil all over Vargas Peláez. Salka indiscriminately just flashing leather all over the head, neck and shoulders of Vargas Peláez, who makes a willing target leaning directly in front of him.
