I feel bad for Martinez honestly. That guy was not going to quit. I’ll support the Brits if they play fair. But Warrington is a dirty fighter man.

 

I would love to see Lara 3 but no chance of it happening. Lara would fight dirty back as well

I have been told the Irish elite amateurs spar constantly. They never take time off which if true, will 100% reduce the shelf life of a fighter. Less punches taken increases longevity.

 

I note the BBC headline this morning is "Warrington knocks out Martinez" and so I guess the narrative is set. Martinez wasn't getting stopped without intervention by the ref or the doctor last night but the record books will say he was.

I feel a sleep, how did JW look?

 

Used his head a lot and the breakthrough which was a bad cut to Kiko was caused by a head clash. Josh started at a ridiculously fast pace similar to the Frampton first round but couldn’t take Kiko out. Josh then went on the back foot for a few rounds and it looked like Kiko was finding his groove but all the big shots were telegraphed and he didn’t hurt Josh at all.

I think the stoppage was a bit premature but the writing was probably one the wall because Kiko couldn’t see out his left eye anyway.
