Anyone seen him fight? How good is he?

Undefeated in 17 fights, 10 KO's to his name.

Won yesterday on the undercard of the Campbell-Funeka/Martinez-Cintron fights, knocking out Lawrence Chapman in the opening round.

Article about him on the main site, 6'2" natural southpaw fighting out of the orthodox position, wants to be involved in wars and wants to fight anybody. Promoted by Don King.

So, to anybody who's seen him fight, how far can he go?

He's fast, sort of like a cruiserweight Hector Camacho Sr. and he has deceiving pop. He can explode with a hook or uppercut and hurt his opponent. I'd say he's a top 10 guy and would like to see him against the best. No one at the top of the division has a style quite like him.

How comes he fights out of the orthodox position when he's a natural southpaw? Is that for use of the left jab or mainly the left hook?

    Cheers chuffy.

He doesn't look bad at all, can't really tell from that clip as YT quality obviously isn't great, but looks like his condition could be a bit better.

But still, looks pretty decent on that outside, reflexes are okay as he dodged a lot of punches early when up against the ropes (though I noticed he was getting pressed towards the ropes often in that 5th round, didn't control the centre of the ring at all - did that a lot better in the 6th round though after he hurt Azille).

Looks a bit susceptible to the right hand when he keeps his hands at his chest, but chin seems fine. Good power though, loved that big lead uppercut for the 1st knockdown and then the left hook that followed it, could sustained pressure for the stoppage aswell and a big left hook and right hand in there.

I'd like to see more of him as he continues to step up in class.

    No problem Tommy, anytime.

That was the first i've seen of him as well, heard alot about him though.

You make some very good points, he does look like he has alot of positives going for him, i like how relaxed he fights as well, also nice movement and confidence..

Yeah, he does look very relaxed and confident and moves well. He looks pretty comfortable in the southpaw position aswell - as he would being a natural lefty - so switch-hitting is another positive.

I would like to see him pick his shots a bit more at times, when he thought he had Azille hurt he went pretty much gung-ho and through some wild hooks and uppercuts, but when he picked his shots he had Azille in real trouble, such as that fantastic right uppercut-left hook combination for the first knockdown.

If he can keep from getting pinned against the ropes so often and work on controlling the centre of the ring a bit more, maybe improve his inside skills a bit as he didn't seem content to engage inside in that clip, I think he could do very well.

I'm looking forward to seeing him step it up a gear now.

I'd love to see Palacios step up in competition. He has skills for a big man.
