Rodríguez is ducking and rolling inside and staying beneath Hirales' jab. Rodríguez is swinging in low-cutting arcs, going for Hirales' waistline. Double jab and quick piston cross by Rodríguez, nice form but timing a little off, hitting glove or whiffing as Hirales dances outside. Right hooks by Hirales, cuffing above the ear of Rodríguez.

Rodríguez is getting impaled on the southpaw jab as he reaches with hooks and lacrosse-stick rights coming in. 1-2 by Hirales. Rodríguez is tied up and hit on the flank with a left uppercut. Hirales is grabbing Rodríguez's left arm whenever he jabs and clanging a left against the back of the head as he pulls him in close. Rodríguez is caught by a left hand lead and then a stiff follow-up jab on the nose. Clinch. Hirales doing more work on the inside, swinging the left repeatedly.

Rodríguez is getting swatted by the right hook as he comes in. Rodríguez stoops low in front of Hirales and his forehead is brushed with a right jab. Hirales ties up and Rodríguez grinds into him. The ref gives Hirales some recovery time when complains of a headbutt. There does appear to be a nick. Doc has a look. Time in. Glove touch. Rodríguez is feinting hooks from a crouch and throwing combos at Hirales on the front-foot. Solid right hand by Rodríguez. Hirales scrambling for cover.

Rodríguez is taking a step in, showing the jab, holstering it, and lunging with a right instead, catching Hirales off-balance and painting his cheeks with it. Hirales is scoring well backing up with the right hook and left hand. Rodríguez is having trouble staying in range, air-mailing some punches. Rodríguez is able to draw back the right hand while twisting away from a Hirales combo and plant a flush counter on the button.

Rodríguez is throwing hard body combos, leaning forward. Rodríguez drives Hirales into the ropes pumping away. Hirales is doubling up on the left hand, thrown palm-up but straight as he circles away. Rodríguez is catching jabs on his left glove and launching the right from a semi-crouch. Rodríguez is making it very physical, clubbing the side of the head as he cloys to Hirales. Heavy pressure from Rodríguez. BIG body combo.

Rodríguez is pounding the body and then doing a little side-to-side jig after withdrawing outside. Hirales is skipping around the ring, tossing right jabs into the air, keeping his distance. Rodríguez is snatching Hirales when he throws a left hand lead and rabbit punching up close. Rodríguez dirty but effective and doing whatever he can get away with.

Rodríguez has now turned southpaw, and is surprisingly even more effective from this stance. Powerful right hooks by Rodríguez. HUGE looping shot by Rodríguez. Hirales down hard. Up and battered to his knees again. Rodríguez can't miss with the right hook, and is walking through everything Hirales throws in his attempts to discourage him.
