Last time Rodriguez fought a Japanese fighter it was a FOTY instant classif with Katsunari Takayama whilst Tobe is making his Mexican debut and has promised to go for the KO! For my Money Tobe is the biggest waste of talent in the last few years (look at his very early career and you see that his team thought he was special, and he had a very good amateur background). 1-Tobe on the front foot early and he takes center ring, backs up Rodriguez and gets him to the body, Rodriguez with a counter right hand, a left hook from Rodriguez, Tobe trying to use his jab to back Rodriguez up and he gets him on the ropes again. Rodriguez now applying the pressure Tobe backs up a lil, uppercutt by Tobe, Tobe getting the better of the action on the inside, a good rigth from Rodriguez excites the commentators as Tobe backs up, Rodriguez letting shots go and Tobe backs off, and then turns the table and unloads on the Mexican. Who needs a feeling out round? Tobe nicks it on my card for his early work, but very close, think Rodriguez gets it in Mexico
2-Tobe is hurt early in the round but sees off the pain and fires back, Rodriguez complains about being hit around the back if the head, Rodriguez on the offensive again but Tobe sees off the fire and gets Rodriguez on the ropes, he's pounding the Mexican in the corner, HUGE attack by Tober, Rodriguez fires back! What an exchange! Tobe down! He gets up slowly! Rodriguez charges in for the finish and he's putting it all on there, Tobe firing back and Rodriguez put on the back foot, Rodriguez backed on to the ropes, he gets off them and Tobe down again! Corner comes in to save Tobe 2 rounds of fantastic action! Short but thrilling fight! And a big win for Rodriguez!
