Both at their respective peaks, who takes this? White Buffalo was what Ruiz was but better, he beats Ruiz at his own game and wins a lopsided decision. Would probably be one of the ugliest fights in the modern era for heavyweights.

Boxing loses as everyone falls asleep watching these two poke and paw and clinch for the duration.

If it's fought on the level Botha wins. Ruiz was terrible.

Ruiz would win. He had quite a bit more stamina than Botha, who could barely do 12.

Ruiz wins with effective clinching and ring general****.

Terrible fight to watch. I think they both should be disqualified.

Holyfield easily beat Bothah by tko while he lost to Ruiz twice, [the first was a robbery] was almost knocked out and had to struggle for a draw. Based on that alone I would say that Ruiz would get a win.

Bitter pill to swallow isn't it? But it is what it is.

You've got to be trolling.... That fight is irrelevant. Both fighters are shot to bits, Holyfield was also past it when he fought Ruiz but still appeared to the classier fighter by far when you take out Ruiz's constant fouling. Botha was prime during the mid late-90s... He any Ruiz could have ran into each other anytime between 99-01 and the fight would have been a well matched affair with both close enough to their respective peaks.

Strange! Even while the crowd cheered the action taking place in Ruiz fights the announcers were claiming that the crowd was falling asleep. In fact, even while George Foreman was praising Ruiz for his ability to nullify Holyfield's attack the announcers were calling the whole thing garbage which caused Foreman at one point to argue with them over their blatant bias. There is not one fight that I watched Ruiz in in which I could say that it was worth falling asleep-not one. All were closely fought and full of drama. So I guess we have a different perspective concerning this boxer. Furthermore his knockout percentage belies your claim.

    44 wins
    By knockout 30
    By decision 13

The guy apparently blocked me for making a negative criticism about Ruiz in another thread... I can't imagine Ruiz has more than a dozen fans so he might be Ruiz himself.
