This is a good and non-obvious one.

If Valuev was moved quicker I could totally see this on a DKP card as a support to a John Ruiz fight

There was a poster here a bit a go who was really average and just wanted to post about Frans.

    Wonder what happened to him.

I don’t really know; it's not one of those matchups that's been done to death yet. That's what makes it good.

Valuev did face a fair few lower rung boxer types who lacked big punches (Barrett, Donald, some others), but posted mixed results. I don't think Botha faced anybody like Valuev at all. So it's not an immediately easy matchup to develop a strong hunch about -- unlike, say, Marciano vs Foreman. Valuev was a weird sort of opponent to fight.

I think Botha at his best was actually pretty good, but Valuev is the one with the track record.

Sticking my neck out but I think Botha makes a good fight of it until the size disparity wears him out in the later stages of the fight. If he banks enough early rounds he might make it a draw or close but more likely Valuev takes it on points.

I would rather watch Moe fight Larry and Curly.

I went with valuev on points In the poll. But truthfully it could go either way.

do not judge fighters from boxrec. I actually watched his fights. Based on that, I am quite confident Botha gets a decision

Hey I like Botha, so I'm happy you think so. I'm not quite as confident, but it wouldn't be impossible.

    "Sugar" Valuev on points.

I would've loved to see this one. Two of the sport's more colorful characters.

Valuev. More consistent, better chin, better stamina.
