Interesting listen. Lewis was rooting for Tyson to beat the count. Says "it wasn't the same Tyson".

Interesting how they say Tyson said his problems were behind him, of course after he got his ass kicked his problems became somewhat of a legend......

No! Everyone was thinking that at the time, people thought Tyson was unbeatable and it wasn`t the same Tyson after Rooney left you could see that but they should have been more detailed about what Douglas was doing right it`s just that at that point Lewis didn`t know much about boxing and was a **** pundit, everyone said Tyson wasn`t te same in that fight it was one of the biggest sporting upsets in history, I couldn`t believe what I wa watching but both Bruno and Lewis still should have given Douglas more credit they just didn`t know any better.

From watching film studies yes but after hearing Lewis commentating in the noughties no he became very savvy via Steward`s teaching, Bruno just had power and very little skill.

Have you seen the right hands Lewis started throwing a couple years after this?! He was being trained by someone who knew nothing about boxing back then, his analysis was crap here anyone could have said what he said.

There are amateurs that are savvy beyond some pro`s but a lot fighters get far by just being powerful, I don`t know how many KO`s Bruno had at amatuer level but who did he beat you do know that there are crappy trainers in boxing I`m going to criticize George Francis but apart from Bruno`s jab he didn`t seem to throw combo`s, you can see AJ`s training coming threw when he fights he throws combo`s that are credited as effective in the sport that`s how he put Wlad away, look what happened when Bruno had an out of sorts Tyson in trouble, it was shoddy, what they do learn as amateurs is little tricks that can make all the difference i.e. Lewis fought some Russians in the olympics or something and they gave him hell because they extended there lead hand like McGregor v Floyd and it keeps opponents at a safe range add that to his reach power and speed and of coarse this can take him to some level it doesn`t mean he knows a lot about boxing or that at that stage he or Bruno knew how to fight Tyson, you may be right but you are being to vague.

They couldn't even begin to give Douglas credit because they knew they weren't good enough to beat Tyson themselves.
Bruno had been hammered by Tyson the previous year, and Lewis was just a novice with a few fights.
They knew Tyson was a clear level above themselves, and didn't want to face the implications that they were a level below the unsung Douglas too.

Or they simply thought like millions of others that it wasn't Tyson at his best.

    Absolutely.
The millions of others who thought Tyson was virtually invincible.

People who are SO WRONG before the Douglas fight can't exactly be taken to be SO RIGHT after the fight.
People are always covering their asses.

Who did you pick to win, 42-1 Douglas or Tyson?

I thought Tyson would win that one. I was wrong.
I doubted Douglas's chin. I was wrong to.
