Yes I saw that most don't though but he wasnt frail, Lennox/Tyson didn't even floor him in 15rounds (well Tyson but only for a flash), he did have poor survival skills though and stamina issues down the stretch

Wlad and Bruno are very similar in terms of strengths and weaknesses, both fluid athletic boxers with excellent jabs and big punches, both have stamina/survival/chin question marks over them. Bruno is the bigger puncher and has the better chin and is stronger though.

Prime Bruno is perhaps better than the 37yo Lennox Vitali lost too and could outjab Vitali and would be timing the big right hand just like Lennox did.

Prime Bruno definately takes this older version of Vitali

Vitali "lost" that fight on a technicality though. I think Vitali out-hearts a prime Bruno in the later rounds. Vitali is fearless whereas Bruno is not. But it's a close match either way.

I like to think I am realistic regarding their pugilistic talents, but my philosophy is, "may the better man prevail". Did you support Ruudi Lubbers?

Bruno was one of those big strong well built muscular guys...he was a likable guy and had some good fundermentals but when he got cracked it all went out the window...He showed heart in his big fight with Tyson and tried but he was stiff and robotive and lacking rythym...for a guy that had the solid looking package unlike Cooney, he was stiff and a bit frail.....but he was not the worst fighter to challenge for a title in the last few decades.....as far as the Liston comparison...he may have been as strong but the MEANESS was missing.....Liston was as mean as Tyson but with the bully syndrome....

    This.

I've not read Mickey Duff's book, but some of the opponents Bruno faced while a contender were truly dreadful. He was matched (outside of title fights) against a combination of non-punchers, shot fighters and journeymen. After Cummings raised the question of his durability, and Bonecrusher answered it there wasn't much of a chance of Bruno facing a live opponent until the WBC gifted him a title shot - anyone remember the Chuck Gardner fight?

Credit to the guy for always turning up in shape physically, that puts him ahead of a lot of his more talented contemporaries. I suppose his best performances were against Coetzee, Lewis and McCall.

I would disagree, Bruno was a very heavy clubbing puncher, and all those fringe contenders/journeymen fighters who went rounds with other top 10 fighters, just did not last with Bruno.

As for Gardner, no he was far from the greatest, but as an opponent, he was coming off beating an ancient Jimmy Young, and was durable enough to go half a dozen with half of the top 10 back then.....

Bruno was too strong for his own good and because of this, he lost valuable experience in how to pace fights, and how to device other strategies when Plan A did not work.

Because outside the world's top 12, Plan A nearly always worked for Bomber.

Gardner NEVER went more than 3 rounds with a rated heavy,
    Shavers bombed him in 2
    Tate in 1
    Berbick in 3
    Tucker in 3
Gardners best weight was around 210 he came in at 243 for Bruno.
The fight was a farce.Gardner had surgical support bandages on his knee ,and his dentures came out when he hit the floor!
The Coetzee fight was just a matter of the South African turning up for a pay day, I was there, he was flabby,Bruno was protected to an absurd degree, he was an "on top fighter", never came back to win a fight when things were going wrong ,with one exception the Cummings fight ,and that was because Jumbo nailed him just as the bell rang ,and Lawless grabbed him and steered him to his stool, his fitness saved the day for him there, the muscle bound Jumbo soon ran out of steam and became a sitting target for Frank, I was there.Would I lie to you?

Bruno was never fluid, nor was he fast. Wlad is very fast and more fluid.

Bruno definately takes the Vitlai who beat Peter? I highly doubt that.
