Bruno did better v Lewis, Smith and spoon than Carnera would have. McCall would have stopped Carnera also.
I would pick him to beat both but it would be a hell of a tough fight in both cases. I think he can stop Carnera and probably take a decision win over Valuev. Frank sparred for years with the 6’10” Mike white and beat good fighters in the ring including Oliver McCall, Pierre Coetzer, And aged versions of Bugner, Tillis and Coetzee. He was always in good shape and had a great jab with lots of power.
I doubt it. He might or might not, have broken his trend of losing every time he stepped up, fighting Carnera. He had power at least. Against Baer, he would simply be a lamb to the slaughter!
His reach and jab would have helped him, he would have kept both those fighters off better than Carnera with his constant long jab, plus he had the power to take both those guys out.
Carnera was nowhere near the level of Lewis, spoon, Smith or Tyson nor was he as good or as powerful as McCall, no way could Carnera stop Lewis with one shot.
Bruno had more one punch power than anyone that fougt Carnera, including Louis even though Louis was a much better finisher than Frank, Bruno had more one punch power and more muscle than anybody Carnera fought.
Carnera probably outlasts Bruno and stops him late. Bruno might survive and labour his way through an ugly 10 or 12 rounder with Valuev though, winning the decision.
Bruno had more one punch power than Tyson and Lewis, according to one test! It obviously didn't get him very far against them! Power on its own, is not worth two buckets of spit!
Carnera's advantage over Bruno is that he kept getting up and carrying on, he had better stamina. He was also at least as strong as Bruno and quite a bit bigger. The only advantage Bruno has is better power. Both of them were primitive boxers, they rarely showed more than very basic skill. Both were slow.
