According to all the threads about Bruno I've been reading recently, Frank was basically the greatest heavyweight of all time so he'd obviously wipe the floor with this guy Louis, whoever he is. In all seriousness, I can see Bruno having some early success against Louis but Louis would start getting to Frank as he ran out of steam around the 8th or 9th.
Unless Frank lands his big shots on Louis chops Joe would break him up at stop him in about seven rnds
Come on, frank has a punchers chance but even that is questionable since he was so stiff and rather slow
I see Bruno been cautious against Louis , knowing Joe's destructive power. To cautious to commit himself fully. He'd pump out the jab ,throw a meaty right and grab .Louis would sense blood and work away at Bruno. Eventually Joe's precise work pays off and Bruno is hurt and trapped along the ropes ..a tired swollen faced Frank is saved by the ref .
Bruno best chance would be to come out fast and try for early ko. As the longer the fight goes the better for Louis. Bruno tries for a Coetzee like result. Louis survive's and takes out a game but out classed Bruno . Louis by ko in mid rounds.
Frank was good enough and dangerous enough to be worth taken very seriously. Frank was better than most of Joes challengers. There are ABC belt holder guys Frank would have beat for their title. The odd weaker linear champion, But Joe Louis is not a weak champion. Louis would win.
Joe Louis was found "Not Guilty" today as a result of the beating death of Frank Bruno....film at 11....
Jess Willard was actually put on trial for killing a man in the ring. Jack Dempsey actually had to sign a waiver before he fought Willard indicating that he was participating under his own free will and that Willard could not be held legally liable for the results should Dempsey get hurt. I wonder if a celebrity attorney like Johnny Cochran would have represented Joe Louis??? "If the punch doesn't crunch you must be drunk to find him guilty" (that's the best rhyme I could come up with)
The same thing would happen that happened every time that Bruno stepped up in opposition. He would be in the unhappy position, of hitting hard enough for Louis to want to get him out of there early, and not having much to prevent him from doing so.
Theoretically, but probably not. His rigid defensive style, would really play to Louis's strengths. Louis might well be worse for him than even Tyson!
