Alrighty So I've been watching a lot of 70s-80s heavyweights This one comes to mind because Bruno has some underrated power in that right hand It sparked Tyson and wobbled Mccall but Bruno could never finish em off for the kill. Quarry could counter punch off big punchers (See Ron Lyle) But was also prone to cuts and bruno's jab could give him trouble here. Bruno had a decent chin but no survival skills when he got in trouble. But at the same time I don't think Quarry has the power to hurt him really.. SO Let's discuss :bbb
Quarry has a very good track record against big punchers who try to fight him at range, both in terms of out boxing, and out punching them. Bruno had a tendency to blow it in big fights, and this fight would likely be another where he blew it, one way or another.
Bruno was a very big heavy - around 235 lbs all muscle. Jerry was barely over 200 lbs. Jerry would have the speed advantage but he was no mover. I think Bruno's power and strength would eventually get to Quarrey and Bruno would win on cuts.
This would be Quarry/Mac Foster all over again. By the way, Quarry did not lose many fights because of cuts.
Bruno has all the physical tools to do the job, but Quarry was his superior mentally. Quarry to take control mid to late
It took an elite fighter to beat a prime Quarry. Frank Bruno, though a sentimental favorite to many Brits, was decidedly not an elite fighter. Quarry does a Mac Foster on him.
Whether Bruno would beat Quarry or not, there is simply no way that he can be considered a better fighter. His resume isn't even close.
Bruno is made to order for Jerry, I seen Quarry dismantle the Big guys, Mac Foster,Lyle,Shavers, etc. he would do the same to Bruno....the Quarry that fought Norton would lose to all of them though
