Willard wasn't even exceptional in his own day. In the 80's and 90's, he'd be lucky to get the recognition of Dave Jaco. He certainly didn't have the skill or physical assets to extend Bruno.

    A) I'm pretty sure I am older than you and have been participating and watching boxing longer than you, so this "new generation" appellation isn't even accurate.

    B) It is because of A, and having witnessed what does and doesn't work in the ring over decades that I know, seeing on film both Bruno and Willard, that Jess stands very little of a chance lasting long enough for his alleged stamina to be a factor.

    C) No one thinks Bruno is a head to head monster against head to head monsters. But it didn't and wouldn't take such a beast to beat Jess Willard.

Bruno would destroy Willard. It would look like Bruno vs Bugner, but end a lot quicker. Bruno kayo in 4, and I'm not a Bruno fan either.

I know what your saying, but it really does depend on a couple of things. How durable Willard really was, is this fight going 15,25? Longer?
Because, even if Bruno s a world above Willard in skill level and punching power, it's not a cert to say that Frank could out point him, if he doesn't stop him, over a long distance fight.
Frank probably imo, stops him before ten, he'd batter Willard s face and Crack his body, but I'm talking if Willard s still there down the line and Bruno s gassing.

Bruno was not chinny, look at some the bombs he took clean from in particular Bonecrusher.

I have mentioned it a number of times before; Bruno lacked a fighting instinct, he needed to be programmed, particularly for when he was hurt. George Francis eventually taught him to cling on when stunned, and that got him the McCall win, and would have got him a victory over Bonecrusher too in 84.

Any way you go I think Willard wins this, if Bruno drops Willard he gets up, when Willard drops Bruno it's over.

I don't see how you could establish this from the available film.

Bruno generally got into trouble by round 10.

I think 12 would be enough for Willard to do it.

He would have to take Bruno's power. Willard had no defense , and could easily be outboxed. I don't know if he's still standing after 10.

Willard by points is not happening, and I think Bruno is more likely to stop Willard inside 12 rounds than vice versa. Willard would have a puncher's chance or Bruno freezing. I'd say Jess is a live underdog

Jess Willard vs David Price is a better match... Now THAT would be a barn burner

How old are you? I lived through his career and he was always seen around top 5 in the world

Everyone involved in boxing accepts boxing progressed after the 1910s and even in that era Willard lost to all kinds of opponents. He lost to no name boxers and Firpo made short work of him and he was a bodybuilder.
