Alternative Scenario : Bruno rather than face Tyson in his first defence has a tuneup fight against a journey man in early 96, he then has a unification bout with IBF champion Michael Moorer in August/September at Wembley Stadium with the winner of that fight facing Tyson.

    Who wins ?

I would have bruno the slight favorite.
Moorer had power to hurt bruno but not enouh to take him out with one shot. He had much better stamina than bruno but not tysons speed to get close without taking punishment nor the chin/punch resistance (especially after foreman knocked him out) to take brunos power early. Bruno woukd not be as intimidated by him as he was by tyson. However if moorer can neutralize brunos jab and get his own hard southpaw jab going then its an even fight and moorers chances would look pretty good.

In Wembley, you'd have to side with Frank. All things being equal. by the same token, put the fight in Vegas and I'd lean towards MM.

Wouldn't have happened though. DKP would have had the title stripped---no way the WBC champ was not meeting Tyson & thereby keeping DKP out of the championship mix. Especially 2 defenses before meeting Mike. That's a main reason Bruno got the opportunity to win the title anyway---he knew the opponent for his next fight if he beat McCall.

It's a really tough call. I lean slightly towards Moorer, who boxed a very disciplined fight to take the title from Holyfield. If he shows up that focused against Frank, I think he could win by decision.

I think Moorer would stop him regardless of where they fight. He had that Southpaw Stance with that crisp right jab. Remember Michael Moorer`s power hand was his lead hand. The Right! Both his jab carried power and his right hook was his most powerful punch. I don`t think Frank Bruno would be able to adjust to Moorer`s style. Double MM had better overall coordination and probably a better defense as well.

    Moorer by 8th round TKO

Bruno should win it, what with Moorer s Chin, but I see a similar fight pattern as Bruno V Witherspoon. Frank doing great and looking in control, Moorer whilst not actually winning but doing OK. Then as we move in to the last four rounds, Bruno getting caught more often, until Moorer finally nails him. Stopped on his feet in the tenth

moorer might take it late, or frankie early.

frank was the reason i stopped weight trainning, it was observing him when i cottoned on that big muscles dont make you invincible like Arnie movies, they just slow you down and wear you out.

Moorer was a classy operator at his best, he had a nasty streak and was good at finishing opppnents. I can see him getting the tko. Am a bigger fan of Bruno but I think moorer gets understated a bit, he was a very good fighter. Bruno could catch him I guess but I’d lean towards him getting out boxed and finished when he gasses.

Great match up. I see it as a true heavyweight 50:50. Ahhh.... What I would give for a true heavyweight 50:50 these days... (I'm looking at you screwing it up for us, King Kong Ortiz)

Moorer has more impressive career wins but I suspect it would go like the McCall fight with Bruno hanging on for a hometown decision. I rate Moorer higher overall but Bruno had the bigger power.

I don’t know. Both guys had power to hurt the other and both men could BE hurt. Frank was the slightly larger and probably stronger guy. Both had good jabs and power in both hands with ability to go 12 rounds. Moore’s southpaw style might fluster Frank as I don’t know how many southpaws Bruno’s faced in his career. Overall very good fight.

I think it would be an interesting fight, I lean toward Moorer, he was a Southpaw, and just a bit better technically, also Bruno had stamina issues. I think the longer the fight lasts, Moorer's chances improve.

Moorer I don’t think Bruno could handle the southpaw jab - and that straight left hand !!!!!!!!!!! Coming at him from the other side

    Moorer via tko 11
