    Over 12 rounds, who wins?

Obviously Bowe is the better fighter, but I think Bruno could trouble him a bit with his jab. Bowe wasn't magnificent from a defensive point of view so he could take some shots early on.

Ultimately when it boils down to it, though Bowe is durable and a terrific infighter and good ou the ouside too, it could be a close-ish one on the cards up until beyond halfway stage. Bowe then opens up and lands more frequently, Bruno typically fails to clinch or cover up, the ref steps in to administer a standing eight count. After which Bowe batters him forcing the ref to stop the fight before the end of the round. Ultimately an expected outcome, but interesting whilst it lasted.

    Bowe: TKO7

Why over 12 rounds? It would not last more than 7 or 8. I would pick Bruno.

Bruno lost against any top guy he ever faced, his best could be a tricky assignment for a fair few but ultimately he'll fall short here. Bowe from the Holyfield trilogy and prior was a fine heavyweight.

Interesting, I'd be curious as to the reasons behind your choice? How do you see the fight unfolding, and what particular stylistic aces would come into play for either fighter?

Bowe was a decent fighter but don't overestimate him. The best fighters Bowe beat were Golota by DQ and Holyfield and Hide who were both cruiserweights and I think he would have lost to the same guys who beat Bruno.

I'm not overestimating Bowe but if he bring his 'A' game or close he'd be too much for Bruno IMO. We'll he'd have lost to Tyson and Lewis, yeah. He'd have beaten the Witherspoon who knocked Bruno out, though. Holyfield was a cruiserweight, but he just happened to be the greatest ever and despite more inconsistency at HW: was a class above Bruno as a fighter. Hide could bang but, yeah his chin was very suspect, that wasn't a top notch win I'll agree.

Bruno was an incredible physical specimen and had tremendous strength and power but it is impossible to fuel such a body for 12 rounds with enough oxygen and hence suffered stamina issues. Neither fighter had much of a defence and I could see Bruno overpowering Bowe in the middle rounds however if it went beyond 8 Bruno would tire quickly and bowe had the tools to finish him. No way I could see this going 12.

Bruno had tremendous physique, a very fine jab and respectable power, but was a limited fighter beyond that. His survival instincts were poor, durability not the best, and movement robotic and he rarely pieced together meaningful combinations well. Spells pretty much disater against top level (or close) opponents.

No disrespect, but Bowe all-day, too nasty for Bruno, and better.

I agree that Bowe should be favored, but i wouldn't rule Bruno out. His jab, even if robotic, is outstanding and gave almost every opponent trouble. We know Bowe isn't good defending against them.. Tubbs outjabbed him and arguably should've gotten the decision, Holyfield whenever he jabbed had great success, but was tempted to slug it out....

Another interesting aspect of this fight is how Bowe takes Bruno's power shots. Bowe hardly faced any punchers of note. Hide had him out on his feet, Holyfield had him down and Golota had him down twice. Admittely, he did take a lot of punishement without going down so his chin is not half bad.

Of course, where Bowe's durability against a big puncher is a bit of a question mark, Bruno's is proving to be a negative. Nethertheless, it would be interesting to see what happens.

One factor that should not be overlooked is Bowe's stamina. He wasn't a big one-punch guy, but he did throw a lot of punches, even when out of shape. And Bruno doesn't like pressure. I'm going with Bowe by TKO somewhere before the 10th.

So you'd pick Smith and Witherspoon to beat Bowe? Additionally, I would also like to ask who exactly did Bruno beat that was better or even in the same league as Evander Holyfield? Personally, I think most people would pick Bruno to lose against Holyfield, let alone Bowe. What's more, it should be noted that Bowe was never KO'd in 45 fights, and lost only once to a man whom he beat twice. Bruno was KO'd by most of the top raters he ever faced.

Bruno is the type of fighter who will give a guy like Bowe some problems, but Bowe would prevail even if he had to dig deep.

I sort of get the feeling that Bowe would do a bit better than Lewis for stylistic reasons.

Due to Brunos jab he would probably win a fair amount of rounds and possibly be leading but his big achilles heel (stamina) would kill him here and Bowe would finish him off in about 7-8.

Bowe is a level above Bruno, imo he is a very good infighter ,especially for a big man has a good workrate and decent stamina,Bruno faded late in fights ,and I saw a lot of him from ringside.Bruno was very astutely managed and caught most of his name victims at the right time ,when they were on the way out].Bruno may have the edge in power and left jab ,but Bowe had a good jab and decent power in his right ,plus he had a better chin the Frank,Bruno froze when he was tagged ,and never came back to win a fight he was losing with the exception of the Cummings fight, when he was out on his feet as the bell rang.Bowe wins by dec or late stoppage.
