I don’t know who would win but I think this would be an exciting fight between two tough punchers. How about you ?
Yep, not an easy one for either. I'd favour Bruno; he had decent boxing ability and a heavy, heavy jab. But Peter is a handful because he's big, tough and can also punch. Bruno for me gets over the line, but he'd have to overcome at least one or two scary moments. If Bruno paces himself he ought to get the decision.
Sam Peters is far more modern and complex, too much so for Bruno to comprehend. After the first Jab Bruno will realise they are a dimension apart and it will destroy his brain.
Bruno was far better technically and should see Peter's round house swings coming a mile off. Sam had a decent chin tho and his sheer size could wear Bruno down. Based on the fact that he was a more accurate puncher and genuine heavy hitter at that i'd lean towards Bruno but not with much convictions.
Bruno is British and therefore gets ranked about 2 or 3 tiers below where he should be on internet forums. Bruno by stoppage
Peter is a big strong bloke tough and rough .unfortunately he is slow and easy to hit. Anyone who gets hit against Bruno is in big trouble. Big KO win for Frank
I have this image in my head of Sam Peter coming out throwing bombs and haymakers in the first 3 rounds......and Bruno looking like a deer caught in the headlights
Are people actually saying that Peter is overrated? I would say that Peter is rated about right, and that Bruno is grossly overrated today!
This fallacy that Bruno was fear stricken all comes from the second Tyson fight. For whatever reason his head seemed all over the place for that one, not that he would ever had won no matter what his state of mind. The first Tyson fight he was really up for it as he was for all his other major fights, Sam Peter would hold no fears for him.
To be fair, BT - other than getting clipped, whilst still a tad green and over-confident against Smith, Bruno only lost to higher-end opponents (Witherspoon, Tyson, Lewis), who I'd rate as better and bigger punchers than Peter. (I would favor Smith against Peter, too). Peter wasn't that fearsome, really. His reputation rests on a highlight reel moment against a past-prime Jeremy Williams, who'd proven to have more than a suspect chin, in his prime, against Akindwande, years earlier. Conversely, when I look at how an aging McCLine dropped Peter multiple times, and how relative novice Helenius had him out of there, I can't see that Bruno is going to have trouble dealing with Peter.
