Frank Bruno's Best Performance

I just re-watched the Bruno Lewis fight. For the 1st 5 rounds Bruno looked great, and the fight was fought at a pace and standard that simply doesn't exist with today's heavyweights.

He may have lost but this was the very best he ever looked, he was focused, boxed very well, and showed some decent handspeed. I don't recall many people giving Lewis this amount of trouble.

Best performance as Genie in Aladdin Woking Theatre 1995....possibly.

Stick me down for McCall, or Chuck Gardner.

 

I'm only plumbing for a win as his best performance, and therefore I'd say Oliver McCall.

The fact he had McCall hurt at one stage in the fight with a right hand is a testament to his punching power.

I would have to say the Jumbo Cummins fight. It was the first and only time he actually overcame adversity and won after being out on his feet. It was also one of the loudest bodyshots I have ever heard that finished the fight.

 

I was, I think everyone got behind him those days, even if he was lightly matched a long way into his career.

Two things that did for me mate were the non effort v Tyson II and when he announced he was interested in standing for the Tories.

The Jumbo Cummings fight showed good heart. I remember Rory MCGrath on They think it's all over having that as a name to describe in the last section of the show and saying 'sounds like an elephant sized ejaculation'

 

Used to love the Bruno fights. Was gutted when he lost to Witherspoon because i genuinley believed he had a great chance of winning that fight,and with a little more savvy,he just might of. Witherspoon was later interviewed on the subject of the heavywieght unification series, and the prospect of facing Mike Tyson. He said he feared no man because he believed no one could possibly punch as hard as frank Bruno.
Everlasting memory of the Mcall fight was Benn lookin a right **** in that shirt. Someone should of told him...I would

 

He did well against Lewis but his best fights have to be Mccall where he won the title,and the win over Coetzee in the 80s which got him a title shot against witherspoon.
